Hi, I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with an R, which means the New York State Department of Education recognizes me as a Psychotherapist. I have additional years of experience and received 6,000 hours of supervision. I'm pretty seasoned, with 15+ years in the field! I graduated from Columbia University School of Social Work with an excellent education. I am happy to share my educational experience and simultaneously infuse life lessons learned. I also respect and recognize yours. We work together on your healing.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During our first session, you can expect that I will wholeheartedly try to get to know you, and I hope you get to know me. I will try to make you as comfortable as possible, allowing the beginning of what I hope will be a remarkable professional relationship.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

What makes me unique is how I demonstrate my respect for each client interacting with me. As a human being, I recognize that I am not perfect. I try to be as open and in tune as possible with each individual I come in contact with and engage with each one based on his/her unique self. I reflect daily, especially on situations that don't go well. I am open to receiving feedback and, when appropriate, will own up to my contribution to a negative situation and apologize. Of course, like many therapists, I have the knowledge and skills that qualify me to do this work. I think you should expect that. I wanted to give you a sense of my humanity.

My treatment methods

Trauma-Focused CBT

As an experienced therapist, I seek to meet each client where they are. I often use several approaches based on my assessment, their needs, interviews, and feedback. My treatment plans are specific to each client and never based on a "cookie-cutter" approach.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I often use this approach, as it is one of the few scientific methods known. How people think affects how they feel and respond to triggers faced daily. CBT explores this. One of the goals is to change behaviors byI frequently use this approach because it is one of the few scientifically established methods available. The way people think significantly influences their feelings and responses to daily triggers. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) examines this connection. One of its main goals is to alter behaviors by changing thought patterns. We have the ability to rewire our brains, which can help shift our thinking. This is a truly fascinating phenomenon! changing thinking!

Psychodynamic

Psychodynamic therapy delves into the past to reveal unconscious unresolved stressors and situations of the past that affect current functioning. Clients report experiencing an "aha" moment when insights from this technique.

Eclectic

As a seasoned psychotherapist, I have "a toolbox with many tools." I choose which tools to use based on your needs. Sometimes, I use a combination of different tools during the session ( I may use several) or one in particular during one session. This method ensures that I address your needs comprehensively!
