I have 7 years of experience as a licensed psychologist working in hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, medical clinics, and private practice settings. I completed a Masters degree in psychology from Pepperdine University and a doctorate in clinical psychology from George Fox University. I taught undergraduate psychology courses at the university level and have lectured and presented workshops internationally. I speak English and Spanish fluently.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
I will work with you to create positive changes whether you are experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma or relationship issues.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
One of my greatest strengths is I am relateable and have a very practical hands-on approach to therapy. I'm happy to provide ongoing long-term therapy for complex issues but also value brief therapy if you are simply looking for a few tools to improve your situation.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use cognitive behavior therapy to help clients better manage their thoughts and negative emotional experiences. My goal as a psychologist is to help you create positive change whether you are experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, or relationship issues.

I have had an incredibly hard time finding a therapist that feels real, that meets my criteria, & that I can trust. However, within five minutes of connecting to Dr. Marcel, I knew he was what I've been looking for. I really appreciate his direct approach, and his humor made it even easier to just keep talking to him. I felt heard—he wasn't just absentmindedly agreeing to make me feel better, but giving me constructive criticism in order to help me be better.
