During our first session, time will be spent exploring what led you to seek out therapy and focusing on getting to know you so that a beginning determination can be made about the focus and goals for therapy.
My biggest strength lies in working with minority populations (eg., women, POC and LGBTQIA+ population). I identify with all of these populations and enjoy helping anyone within them to feel more empowered.
My ideal clients are either Women, BIPOC, and/or part of the LGBTQ+ community.
Addressing patterns of thoughts is considered to be an important part of assisting clients in learning to cope with stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, etc.
Various mindfulness methods such as deep breathing, meditation and visualization are taught and practiced to help increase or improve coping skills.
Consideration and sensitivity to cultural factors are included as a part of the therapeutic environment and the impact that they may have on presenting concerns.
