I am passionate about doing something that matters in the world with the skills I have and I choose to focus that passion on the relationships I have with my clients. I want to understand my client's perspective, life, and motivation and even help them discover those things for themselves. I do this through conversations that help us build trust and explore thoughts, emotions, and beliefs. I also focus on tangible solutions when possible, as well as emotional management and skill building. In the simplest terms, I want to be someone who can listen without judgement and care without expectation.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

The first session is often spend putting the client at ease about any concerns they have and building rapport so that there is trust. We set the foundation for goal setting, but it takes time to really formulate concrete goals.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I am very philosophically focused and enjoy helping my clients question and discover things they have always assumed and how those things affect them. I think I am good at meeting people where they are at, even if they feel like they think differently than others, are into "strange" things, or experience shame. I want to make people feel seen above all else.

My treatment methods

Existential

Existential therapy is focused on helping clients to assess their place in the world and create meaning in their lives.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

When appropriate, I use CBT to help client assess and change problematic, dysfunctional, or overly negative thoughts. This must be based in reality and focuses on what a client can control.

Integrative

I utilize several treatments and tools and integrate the most useful aspects of those tools based on what would be most helpful to each client.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Mindfulness is a major part of what I do and can help clients be in the moment and focus on what they can control.
