I am a licensed clinical psychologist in Connecticut, Maine, and New York, and PSYPACT authorized, with nearly 20 years of experience in the mental health field. I provide individual therapy for clients navigating the emotional ups and downs of other family building pathways, such as IVF, IUI, egg or sperm donation, and adoption. I also support those pursuing medically guided weight-management treatments, including bariatric surgery (i.e., gastric sleeve or bypass) and GLP-1 medications, with attention to the emotional, relational, and identity changes these experiences can bring. Through my own lived experiences, I understand how deeply personal these journeys can be—and how they may bring feelings of isolation, fear, or loss alongside hope and excitement. I use evidence-based approaches to help clients manage the identity and relational shifts, stress, uncertainty, grief, self-doubt, and adjustment to lifestyle changes associated with these medical concerns while building coping skills and emotional resilience. You don’t have to carry that alone. I am committed to creating a warm, inclusive, and affirming space where clients feel seen and supported, with particular attention to the experiences of women of color and members of the LGBTQ+ community. My goal is to help you navigate these transitions with clarity, self-trust, and emotional balance, supporting you as you work toward the life and goals that matter most to you.

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Your first session is designed to help you feel safe, informed, and supported. We’ll begin by reviewing consent to treatment, confidentiality, and important telehealth considerations so you understand your rights and what to expect from therapy. We’ll then talk about what has brought you to therapy at this point in your life. This may include infertility or reproductive grief; navigating IVF, IUI, donor conception, or adoption; preparing for or adjusting to bariatric surgery; weight loss through surgery or GLP-1 medications; or navigating hormonal changes related to menopause or conditions such as PCOS. Together, we’ll explore how these experiences are affecting your emotional well-being, daily life, and sense of self, as well as what you hope will feel different. I’ll also ask about your personal history, previous therapy experiences, current stressors, and goals. I approach this work through a culturally responsive and affirming lens, taking time to understand how your identities, values, and lived experiences shape your emotional world and treatment needs. This allows us to develop a thoughtful, individualized plan of care that feels respectful and relevant. I’ll explain the evidence-based approaches I use—such as CBT, Motivational Interviewing, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy—and what therapy may look like moving forward. Before we end, we’ll review next steps so you leave feeling grounded, informed, and hopeful.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I’m inspired by the growing awareness of women’s health concerns across the lifespan, how they impact our mental health, and breaking the stigma around these issues. I provide individual therapy in a culturally responsive, affirming space for women—particularly holding space for BIPOC and LGBTQ+ clients—navigating infertility, diverse paths to parenthood, menopause, and physician-supported weight management such as gastric slee, gastric bypass, and GLP-1 interventions. My goal is to help you feel safe, seen, understood, and supported as you work toward a life that reflects your values and hopes. With nearly 20 years of experience and a strong background in integrated healthcare, I bring a deep understanding of the mind–body connection and how physical health, identities, culture, emotions, and life circumstances intersect. Since 2016, I have provided therapy via telehealth and have developed ways to build meaningful, trusting relationships even across screens. Clients often highlight my empathetic, authentic, intelligent, and direct approach. I balance warmth with honesty, offering guidance without judgment while gently challenging unhelpful patterns. Using evidence-based techniques—including cognitive-behavioral therapy, solution-focused brief therapy, and motivational interviewing—we will work collaboratively to set goals, recognize past successes, and take small, actionable steps toward meaningful change, such as shifting thoughts and building skills. I feel privileged to support your journey and witness the growth, resilience, and insight that emerge as you navigate these challenging experiences. Ultimately, the goal of therapy is to help you build the skills, insight, and confidence to thrive independently. So, therapy is about more than talking—it’s about doing and changing. By unpacking challenges, learning coping skills, and actively practicing strategies, you will gain insight, demonstrate growth, and create lasting self-efficacy.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal clients are women—especially BIPOC and LGBTQ+ individuals—navigating infertility, alternative paths to parenthood (IUI, IVF, donor-conceived family building, or adoption), menopause transitions, or physician-supported weight management through bariatric surgery or medications. They may feel uncertain, isolated, overwhelmed, or stigmatized, and they’re seeking guidance that honors their unique identities, values, and experiences. Clients often arrive ready to explore their story, even if they aren’t sure where to start. Many have spent years prioritizing others, managing stress silently, or ignoring their own emotions. Though they may come seeking someone simply to talk to, they are open to taking the steps that turn insight into meaningful progress—recognizing that therapy, unlike a support group, involves applying what you learn so you can eventually face challenges independently. This work includes processing emotions, building coping skills, addressing past wounds, and drawing on personal strengths to develop confidence and resilience. My ideal clients value a collaborative, goal-focused approach and want a structured, supportive space to unpack experiences, shift unhelpful patterns, and take actionable steps toward growth, healing, and self-efficacy. They are ready to engage in therapy as a process that equips them with skills, insight, and confidence to navigate life independently—all while feeling seen, heard, and supported along the way.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients navigate the myriad of emotional challenges of infertility, alternative paths to building a family (IVF, IUI, adoption) or weight-loss. CBT provides a supportive framework to explore how thoughts, feelings, and behaviors interact, helping you notice unhelpful patterns without judgment. Using practical strategies, and small assignments to practice between sessions, this approach helps clients build confidence, strengthen coping skills, and gradually rely less on therapy—empowering you to manage challenges on your own over time.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

I use Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) to help clients build on their strengths and what’s already working in their lives. Together, we set small meaningful goals and take practical steps toward positive change. This collaborative, future-focused approach supports rapid movement, and lasting progress—whether you’re navigating infertility, althernative paths to building families, or on an obesity recovery journey.

Multicultural

My approach to care centers on understanding the contextual factors that shape your experiences and identity. I view culture broadly, including not only ethnicity or nationality, but also family background, values, roles, body size, gender, socioeconomic factors, and lived experience. Each person belongs to multiple cultures, and I integrate this perspective to provide care that is respectful, affirming, and responsive to your unique reality.

Motivational Interviewing

Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a compassionate, collaborative approach that honors how hard this journey can be. When my clients are coping with the emotional impact of infertility or obesity recovery, MI provides a safe space to explore grief, frustration, fear, and mixed feelings—without pressure or judgment. Rather than pushing change, MI helps clients reconnect with their own values, build self-trust, and move forward at a pace that feels respectful and sustainable, even in the midst of uncertainty or loss.
