About me

Welcome! I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Utah and I'm licensed in Utah, Nevada, Arizona, and Idaho. I've been practicing for 11 years. I work with adults with all types of trauma who are ready to make a change through trauma work. I LOVE working with the LGBTQ+ crowd and I'm a proud member of the LGBTQ+ Affirmative Therapist Guild of Utah. I am neurodiverse and welcome in my clients with neurodiversity! I aim toward being a safe and approachable therapist who listens without judgement and hears your needs for support.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Clients will be able to have an intake session where we both ask questions and get to give feedback on goodness of fit and understand the needs of one another for sessions ahead. Clients are in control of their sessions and get to create their own treatment plan and path forward to meet their goals aligned with their values.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I am an open-minded and non-judgmental therapist who is flexible in thinking. I will hold space for what you bring to treatment and honor your values.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I love working with adults with trauma and adults who are seeking to understand and celebrate their identity, orientation, and/or neurodivergence. Clients best suited to work with me will need to have some supports in place as I am part time and focus on my family, and be willing to utilize a safety plan on days I am not available. I advocate for everyone to do self care and self soothe and have mindful time away from technology and work.

My treatment methods

EMDR

EMDR is a research-supported treatment for trauma symptom reduction I've been using with clients 8+ years and I've completed training for EMDR. As an option for faster trauma symptom resolution and a way to feel in control of your past memories, it's an option for all my clients with trauma.

Trauma Informed Care

Many of us go through life with some form of trauma and my interaction style and methods are trauma informed to reduce discomfort from the initial meeting through your therapy process! I am also neurodiverse-aware and aim to assure your sensory needs are respected and we go at a pace which works for you!

Strength-Based

Focusing on your abilities, skills, and constructively based goals within your values is the focus of my treatment. I see the strengths in each client and the insight they bring from their life experience.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

A clinical staple for challenging the thought and behavior patterns causing us struggles so we try new ways of processing thoughts and altering behavior to reach your goals. CBT is a great way to learn the unhelpful thinking patterns you may have heard or incorporated over a lifetime and this can lead to lasting change in your daily life.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

DBT offers many helpful avenues to work on thoughts, behaviors, and coping which may be keeping you in unhealthy loops within yourself and with others. DBT has a wide range of coping skills from thought pattern changes, to sitting with big emotions, and building insight on reactive behavior no longer serving you.
