LCSW, 8 years of experience
New to Grow
Hi! I’m Brittany Benton, a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) with over 8 years of experience in the mental health field. I earned my Master’s in Clinical Social Work from Florida State University and have dedicated my career to working alongside clients as they navigate life’s challenges and transitions. I believe therapy should be a safe, compassionate space where you feel truly seen and heard. Whether we’re exploring past experiences, addressing current stressors, or setting future goals, I strive to meet each client with warmth, empathy, and curiosity. My work is trauma-informed and rooted in a strengths-based approach that honors your unique story and potential for growth.
From our very first session, my goal is to create a welcoming, non-judgmental environment where you can feel at ease. We’ll start by exploring your goals, your history, and what brought you to therapy. From there, we’ll build a personalized plan that works at a pace you’re comfortable with—no pressure to share everything all at once. While I carry an array of experience and expertise of evidence based approaches, you also carry a lifetime of experience and expertise on what it is like to be you. Together, we can combine our strengths to address any area of concern you may have. Our sessions will be a space for reflection, growth, and practical tools you can carry into your everyday life. This is your time, your story, and your journey—I’m just here to help guide and support you along the way.
My biggest strength as a therapist lies in my ability to create a safe and empowering space where you feel genuinely understood. I adapt my therapeutic approach based on your needs, whether that involves processing trauma with EMDR, building emotional regulation skills through DBT, or finding creative solutions to day-to-day stressors. Trust, collaboration, and connection are the cornerstone of my work. Progress cannot be effectively made if areas of concern if the two of us don’t have that foundation. I bring a grounded, down-to-earth style that helps clients feel supported and capable as they do the brave work of healing. I am also, open to feedback and adapting in a way that fits your needs and makes sure we can be effective within this space.
I enjoy working with individuals of all ages and identities, with a particular focus on teens, young adults, and the LGBTQ+ community. My clinical training includes EMDR, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Solution-Focused Therapy. I support clients experiencing depression, anxiety, self-esteem issues, grief, trauma, suicidal ideation, and relationship challenges, among others. Many of the clients I work with carry the invisible weight of past experiences—experiences that have shaped their sense of self, impacted relationships, or made it hard to feel safe in an ever changing world. I specialize in helping those who struggle with low self-esteem, anxiety, people-pleasing, identity challenges, and feeling disconnected from themselves. Our work often focuses on rebuilding a sense of self-worth, learning to set boundaries, and reconnecting with your voice and values.
I have been practicing with an eclectic therapeutic approach for nearly a decade, which allows me to adapt flexibly to each client’s unique needs, concerns, and treatment goals. This personalized method helps ensure that therapy is both responsive and effective, staying aligned with what matters most to each individual. My approach draws from a range of evidence-based modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Attachment-Based Theory.
