Feeling overwhelmed by the challenges of adolescence or early adulthood? Are you searching for a space where you can truly be yourself and explore your identity without judgment? As a social worker specializing in LGBTQIA+, adolescent, and young adult population, I’m here to offer the support and understanding you need during this transformative time. I am dedicated to working with adolescents and young adults to navigate the complexities of self-discovery, societal pressures, and mental health. My goal is to provide a safe and affirming environment where you can address your concerns, build resilience, and find your path forward. My approach includes modalities such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and strength-based methods, all tailored to meet the unique needs of each individual. By fostering a supportive and collaborative relationship, I aim to empower you to embrace your identity and tackle life’s challenges with confidence. As a queer-identified therapist, I am deeply committed to creating a safe and affirming space for individuals of all gender identities and sexual orientations. I offer support for a wide range of concerns including life transitions, depression, adjustment disorders, family conflict, anxiety, stress management, trauma, and LGBTQIA+ specific issues.
Our initial session will be a time for us to get to know each other. I will get background information, ask questions about mental health history, and we will brainstorm treatment plan goals together. I am always open to any questions you may have when starting therapy, whether about the therapy process or about my past experience. I am approachable and want my clients to feel comfortable asking questions and advocating for what they need.
Having worked with teens and adults for the past 4 years, I've developed methods to help other identify the problems and take tangible steps to work through their difficulty. I am gentle, strengths-based, and flexible to meet you exactly where you are.
Trauma informed care is very important when working with any kind of trauma. I have years of experience and education about how impact trauma can have on the brain, body, and overall mental health.
CBT is wonderful, no matter the diagnosis. It helps us understand more about how we think and feel. It gives us further insight into why we act or behave the ways that we do at times.
DBT is great for emotion regulation, mindfulness, and improving distress tolerance skills. I use parts of several modalities to create a plan that best suits each client.
Radical acceptance is very difficult. This therapy modality looks at situations and experiences that we have with acceptance in order to move through the pain and difficulty to come out on the other side.
