What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, we'll work together to explore the issues bringing you to therapy. I'll be guiding you through the structure of cognitive behavioral therapy, learning about the concerns you'd like to work on, and teaching you about how recovery will look. We'll collaborate to create a plan to determine what you want to get out of therapy and how you'll know when you're ready to move on.

I am good at exploring the ins and outs of your concerns, providing new perspectives and insights to help you see things in a different light, and coaching you toward taking action to make things better in a manageable way.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with my clients, though I integrate small amounts of other modalities, such as Narrative Therapy and Feminist Therapy. CBT is a research-supported approach that helps you recognize the connections between how you think, feel, and act, and then implement changes to improve your life.

Cognitive Behavior Therapy for Suicide Prevention (CBT-SP)

I treat suicidal thoughts and behaviors using cognitive behavioral therapy for suicide prevention. In this approach, we collaborate to help keep you safe, to address the factors that led to previous suicidal action, and work on solving the problems at the core of your suicidal thoughts.

Cognitive Processing (CPT)

I use cognitive processing therapy to treat PTSD. This is a 12-session protocol where the goal is not to relive the trauma, but rather to identify and correct limiting beliefs that have changed as a result of the trauma you experienced.
