Hi, I’m Robyn. I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker licensed in Kansas and Missouri. I work with people who are navigating grief and loss; including the loss of a loved one, changes in relationships, shifts in identity, caregiving stress, or the emotional weight that comes with major life transitions. Many of the people I work with aren’t in crisis, but they feel heavy, stuck, or not quite like themselves anymore. They’re often managing work, family, and responsibilities just fine on the outside, while carrying a lot internally. Sometimes they know something is off, but they don’t yet have the words for it. My style is calm, steady, and thoughtful. I’m comfortable sitting with silence, strong emotions, and conversations that don’t have quick or easy answers. Therapy with me isn’t about fixing or performing. It's a space where you can slow down, be real, and make sense of what you’re carrying. Together, we focus on building clarity, emotional awareness, and a steadier footing as you move forward, at your own pace.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, my main goal is for you to feel comfortable, supported, and heard. We’ll talk about what brought you to therapy, what you’re hoping for, and any questions or concerns you have about the process. There’s no pressure to share everything right away. We’ll move at a pace that feels manageable for you. I’ll ask some thoughtful questions to get a sense of your story and what’s been weighing on you, but there’s also plenty of room to focus on whatever feels most important that day. You don’t need to come in with a clear plan, a diagnosis, or the “right words.” We’ll figure things out together. Therapy with me is a supportive, nonjudgmental space where you don’t have to filter yourself or hold it all together. If you simply know that something feels heavy, different, or unresolved, that’s more than enough to begin.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

One of my greatest strengths as a therapist is my ability to sit with people in deep emotional pain without judgment, pressure, or the need to “fix” things that can’t be fixed. Many of the people I work with have already tried to think their way out of what they’re feeling. What they often need most is someone who can stay present with them without rushing toward answers, solutions, or silver linings. I bring over a decade of experience supporting individuals through grief, caregiving, and major life transitions. I’m comfortable with silence, tears, and the hard questions, including “Where do I go from here?” and “Who am I now?” Clients often share that they feel genuinely seen and understood in our work together, even when they’re talking about experiences that feel messy, complicated, or hard to put into words. My approach is gentle, grounded, and steady, rooted in the belief that healing often begins when you don’t feel so alone in what you’re carrying.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work best with those who aren’t in immediate crisis but feel emotionally stuck, weighed down, or unsettled by a loss or change in their life. Many of the people I see are adjusting to grief after a death, changes in relationships, caregiving responsibilities, or transitions that have left them feeling different than they used to be. Some clients choose longer-term therapy, while others come for support during a specific season of stress or transition. Whether you’re looking for short-term support or more ongoing work, we’ll focus on what feels most helpful, realistic, and supportive for you right now.

My treatment methods

Grief Therapy

I have over a decade of combined experience in hospice care and bereavement coordination, supporting individuals and families through anticipatory and post-loss grief. My approach is compassionate and client-centered, helping clients process loss, find meaning, and adapt to life transitions at their own pace.

Supportive

I use supportive therapy to provide a safe, validating space where clients can process difficult emotions, build coping skills, and strengthen their inner resilience. My focus in on fostering trust, stability, and emotional insight, especially during periods of grief, caregiving, or life transition.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help clients make room for difficult thoughts and emotions, rather than fighting or judging them. Instead of trying to “fix” or eliminate feelings like grief, anxiety, or uncertainty, we focus on learning how to relate to them differently so they don’t run your life.

Psychoeducation

I use Psychoeducation to help clients understand the emotional, physical, and cognitive effects of grief, caregiving, and life transitions. By normalizing symptoms like brain fog or emotional numbness, clients often feel empowered and less alone. I also incorporate grief models and nervous system education to support insight and coping.

Narrative

I use narrative therapy to help clients explore and give meaning to their experiences of loss, caregiving, or transition. Together, we identify the stories you've been carrying and work to reshape them in ways that honor both your pain and resilience.
