My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavior Therapy for Suicide Prevention (CBT-SP)

CBT places an emphasis on helping patients learn effective, evidenced based coping skills to reduce distress and better cope with situational impacting their mood, thought patterns and well-being. Through exercises in the session as well as “homework” exercises outside of sessions, patients/clients are helped to develop coping skills, whereby they can learn to change their own thinking, problematic emotions, and behavior. CBT can be a very helpful tool — either alone or in combination with other therapies — in treating mental health disorders, such as depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and anxiety.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

DBT is a type of talk therapy that helps people learn to accept their emotions, tolerate distress, and change harmful behaviors. It's based on cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), but it's adapted for people who experience emotions intensely. DBT focuses on implementation and practice of core coping skills to regulate distress, improve interpersonal effectiveness and accept their emotions.

Humanistic

Humanistic therapy is a type of talk therapy that focuses on the individual, their potential, and their ability to make choices. It's based on the idea that people are inherently good and have the ability to find their own solutions to problems.

Psychodynamic

Psychodynamic therapy is a form of talk therapy that helps people understand how their past experiences and unconscious mind shape their current behavior and feelings. It's based on the theories of Sigmund Freud and psychoanalysis, but differs from traditional psychoanalysis in that psychodynamic therapists act more as guides than experts.
