My name is Ashley Zarco. I am a licensed clinical social worker with experience in a variety of setting for crisis assessment, crisis stabilization, PHP/IOP and outpatient therapy. I received my Masters Degree from North Carolina State University. I enjoy helping clients develop appropriate copings skills, identify goals, work towards these individuals goals and progress life events to help them become the best person that could be. I meet everyone where they are at and will be with a client every step of the way.
During our first session, we reviewed intake assessment and start with introduction. I allow time for clients to expand on reasons bring them into therapy to provide me with a greater understanding of current concerns. This allows us to develop appropriate goals for our time together.
As a therapist working with young professionals, I stride to create a safe place for all clients from many different walks of life. We all come for a variety of life circumstances trying to get to the next level. I have many experiences with making measurable goals to help clients reach their overall best self.
I enjoyed practicing CBT therapy to help clients gain knowledge of how our emotions can affect our thoughts and behaviors. We have no bad emotions. I enjoy leading clients to independent become a detective into their automatic thoughts to improve their wellbeing.
I enjoy practicing DBT based therapy as it helps clients gain appropriate coping skills to use to maintain stressful life situations. I personally use these skills and enjoy helping others find ways to manage uncomfortable emotions/urges and trauma response symptoms.
As a therapist, I want to help motivation you to reach your overall goals. I will be with you every step of the way to improve your overall wellbeing by inquiring about current behaviors impacting your future goals.
I will always lead with strength-based skills as we all have positive qualities that make us who we are. It can be easy to forget these when life gets in the way.
I am always mindful of past experiences that may or may not directly bringing a person into therapy. I strive to make a safe place for all people of make have experience any negative past experiences.
