New to Grow
Life can change in an instant — an injury, a diagnosis, or loss — leaving your world unrecognizable and overwhelming yet even here, steadiness is still possible. Whether you're the one directly going through it, or love someone who is, you are thrust into a world you never expected to be in and carrying a weight you did not ask for. Moving forward is not about "getting over it." It’s about learning who you are in the midst of it and finding hope and resilience where you can, even when it feels impossible. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and offer telehealth in Colorado and Arizona. I am passionate about supporting individuals going through some of life's most challenging changes that can contribute to anxiety, adjustment challenges, depression, and grief. My approach emphasizes creating a safe and compassionate space where you can feel seen and understood. Together we'll aim to explore practical and adaptive skills to help you gently find your footing and reconnect with your strengths. Whatever you're carrying, you do not need to carry it alone.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
Our first session is a chance for you to set down what you've been carrying at a pace that feels comfortable. We'll take time to explore your unique journey and what you hope will feel different. You'll get a sense of my warm, steady, participatory, and collaborative style and together we'll begin to shape a plan focused on helping you feel better and learning to carry what you're carrying with more ease. Most people leave the first session feeling more understood and less alone. And also leave with a clearer understanding of what therapy will look like, what we'll focus on, and possibly 1 or 2 initial strategies or areas of insight to help you start feeling more supported right away.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
As a spouse to someone who sustained a life changing injury, I have a unique personal and professional understanding of what it is like navigating the unfamiliar emotional terrain that comes with life-altering events. My clients often describe me as genuine, gentle, compassionate and open-minded. I draw from grief and trauma informed care practices blended with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy, mindfulness, and/or somatic strategies to help my clients better understand their experience and develop tools to help them cope with their circumstances.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I work best with adults who are navigating the emotional, relational, and practical challenges that come with life-changing injuries, illnesses, medical trauma, loss and/or major life changes.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Through CBT, I help clients understand how thoughts, emotions, and behaviors influence each other and develop practical strategies for coping with intense emotions and difficult life transitions.
Trauma Informed Care
Through trauma-informed care, I help individuals facing life changing events to have a safe, respectful, and empowering space that takes into account the effects of past experiences and major life events.
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
I use ACT as a gentle and practical approach that helps you make space for difficult emotions and reconnect with what matters most. Together we focus on coping skills and values-guided steps that support resilience and steadiness during challenging transitions.
