Hello! I am Jessica Rombs, licensed Clinical Social Worker, and I have over 18 years of experience working with children, adolescents, young adults, and families in various aspects of their lives. I have experience in both medical social work and school social work, in which I work closely with individuals struggling with a variety of mental health and life challenges. I value empathy and strive to improve the lives of my clients by helping to reduce daily struggles through the development of coping skills and support to help manage everyday demands. My goal as a therapist, is to assist and support individual and diverse needs by drawing from strength-based therapeutic approaches and techniques such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Strengths Perspective and Psychoeducation. Together, we can unveil your hidden strengths and start your journey of healing and transformation.
In our first session, we will start with introductions and spend time getting to know each other. We will then explore the challenges you are facing to help develop a plan for our future visits. As the sessions progress, you will be provided with resources and homework to help guide you in self discovery and assist in developing strategies and positive coping skills to enhance your growth. Sessions will provide you with a safe space to express your thoughts and feelings. There is no "one size fits all" approach so we will tailor each session to fit your specific needs and concerns.
I strive to help patients identify and explore their feelings, thoughts and behaviors contributing to their struggles with a goal to help reduce symptoms and improve overall functioning in their everyday life. I feel that I can help clients connect with their feelings and navigate their thoughts into changing their behaviors.
I have been using CBT with my clients throughout the 18 years that I have practiced as a clinical social worker. CBT can help you manage your problems by changing the way you think and behave. We will work to recognize how your thoughts, feelings and behaviors influence each other and then use this information to challenge negative and/or distorted thoughts to help change your thought patterns.
In addition to CBT, I also like to utilize solution focused therapy and Strengths perspective to help identify goals and to create a plan to meet these goals.
