LISW, 35 years of experience
New to Grow
I am a licensed clinical social worker. I am a compassionate social worker who is an active listener, who is dedicated to working tirelessly to help you resolve issues and thrive on your own terms. I am trained in cognitive behavioral therapy, situational family therapy, trauma-informed therapy, EMDR, and NLP I also have experience in grief and bereavement counseling. I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, with mindfulness.
In out first session I hope you will find a a place to talk about whatever you need to do so, to know that I am honored and feel it is a privilege to walk this journey with you. I would hope that others find me to be an attentive listener, to be sensitive, and empathic. I am not there to tell them what to do but help them find the resources that they can utilize to become a thriving individual.
In my 35 years of experience, I have found cognitive behavioral therapy as one of the most productive strategy. I think that I have always been a helping person. I felt that this was what my calling was to be and in 1987 I received my Master's in Social Work. I feel that there is so much pain in this world and I had a counselor when I was a summer missionary in 1982 in South Carolina who taught hug therapy I think that was when I knew that I wanted to help others find a path to thriving not just surviving.
My ideal client is one that is open and receptive to change, they see counseling as a partnership. I would see this as a team approach, to help clients to identify why they are seeking counseling and what I can do to help them in this process. To help set small individual goals as they look at the big picture and to build success. My ages are anyone over the age of 18.
I use cognitive behavioral therapy to help you build coping techniques in a team approach
