New to Grow
Hello! I am a licensed clinical social worker. I have provided counseling services to children and adolescents for the past 25 years in a school and outpatient setting. I love working with this population. I have experience addressing issues related to ADHD, divorce, depression, anxiety, autism and social skills. I work hard to ensure that each child/adolescent that I see feels understood and supported. I work to empower my clients to feel success and pride in their accomplishments.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
During our first session, we will get to know each other. I will conduct a comprehensive assessment to get to know you better while also working to build a relationship for therapy. We will discuss possible treatment goals and the time frames. We will also determine if the counseling relationship is a good fit during our first session.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I'm very empathetic while holding clients accountable for their work. I do a good job of connecting with others and making them feel heard and understood. I have years of experience working with youth and use a number of counseling modalities and approaches that I tailor toward individual needs.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
My dream client is a child or adolescent who needs a warm, understanding approach, but also requires gentle challenging to make positive change.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
I have been trained in using Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and use it often with clients. I use it to help clients develop skills that they can use to manage their situation.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use Cognitive Behavioral therapy with clients who may experiencing anxiety or depression to help challenge irrational thoughts and replace them with more functional, positive thinking patterns.
Motivational Interviewing
I use motivational interviewing when working with adolescents or mandated clients to help motivate them to do the work necessary to feel success.
Strength-Based
I use a strength-based approach to identify clients strengths and then incorporate them into our therapy to make positive change.
