I’m Dr. Shaniqua Lesesne, a licensed therapist (NC & SC), mindset life coach, and mentor. I’m passionate about empowering individuals to overcome challenges, heal from past wounds, and break free from limiting beliefs. I specialize in working with individuals seeking mental clarity and emotional renewal, and those who are ready to embrace their power and transform their mindset. Together, we can transform your mindset, unlock your potential, and lead you toward a fulfilling, joyful life.
In your first therapy session with me, you can expect to feel welcomed, heard, and supported as we begin to build a trusting relationship. We will start by discussing your reasons for seeking therapy and explore your goals for personal growth and healing. I’ll ask questions to understand your background, challenges, and any symptoms you're experiencing. Together, we’ll create a roadmap for our work together, focusing on the areas you want to address. My approach is collaborative, so you’ll be an active participant in shaping the direction of your journey toward emotional well-being and lasting change.
My greatest strengths as a provider lie in my deep empathy, ability to build trust, and my expertise in both therapy and mindset life coaching. I offer a compassionate, nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard and understood. My approach is both collaborative and empowering. I bring a unique blend of skills—balancing therapeutic techniques with mindset coaching—to help clients transform their mental and emotional well-being. Additionally, my passion for supporting individuals in overcoming challenges and embracing their full potential is a powerful motivator in creating lasting change for those I work with.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is used to help clients identify and change negative thought patterns that contribute to emotional distress and manage symptoms of anxiety, depression, and stress by teaching coping strategies and healthier thinking habits. In addition CBT is used to focus on improving behaviors and emotional responses by challenging unhelpful beliefs and replacing them with constructive ones.
Christian counseling in therapy is used to integrate faith-based principles with psychological techniques to promote emotional healing and spiritual growth. It encourages clients to find hope, strength, and guidance through their relationship with God and biblical teachings.
Psychoeducation in therapy is used to help clients understand their mental health conditions, providing them with knowledge about symptoms, triggers, and coping strategies. This empowers clients to make informed decisions, manage their symptoms more effectively, and reduce feelings of helplessness.
Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) is used to help clients process and reframe traumatic experiences through structured interventions like psychoeducation, relaxation techniques, and cognitive restructuring. It also provides support for clients in gradually confronting traumatic memories to reduce distress and develop healthier coping mechanisms.
Person-centered therapy is used to provide clients with a safe, non-judgmental space to express their thoughts and feelings openly. This method also uses empathy, genuineness, and unconditional positive regard to help clients explore their inner experiences and move toward self-discovery and growth.
