*Currently accepting female clients only* Therapy has changed, and thankfully so. The old idea of spilling your heart out to someone who feels distant, judgmental, or out of touch does not work anymore. So let’s not do that. I’m Jessica Milgrome, a licensed mental health clinician with 15 years of experience, a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor, and a National Certified Counselor. I work with women navigating anxiety, overthinking, emotional overwhelm, relationship stress, burnout, and major life transitions. My approach is modern, direct, and judgment-free. Therapy with me is a real conversation. No awkward silence. No walking on eggshells. No wondering if you said the wrong thing. We talk openly, focus on what actually helps, and skip techniques that do not fit your real life. Sessions can be video or phone. If video feels too intense some days, that is okay. Therapy should feel supportive, practical, and human. To share a bit about myself, I’m a big fan of stand-up comedy because laughing really is life. I look forward to Mondays for Spotify’s Discover Weekly playlists and live by the mantra, “When words fail, let the music speak.” I also share my life with six dogs. I’m here to help you organize your thoughts, build confidence, set boundaries you can keep, and move forward feeling clearer and more grounded.

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

You show up exactly as you are. Maybe nervous. Maybe tired. Maybe not sure where to start. That is completely okay. We usually start with something simple like, “What made you book this session?” or “What feels like the heaviest thing right now?” If your thoughts feel scattered or you go on a tangent, that is normal. I help guide the conversation so it does not feel overwhelming or awkward. You do not have to trauma-dump, overshare, or “spill everything” to make therapy work. Some people talk a lot, some need help finding the words, and some just want someone to help sort through the noise in their head. All of that is welcome. I will ask questions, reflect things back to you, and help you connect dots you may not have noticed yet. We might identify patterns, name stressors, or talk through a specific situation that is bothering you right now. If it makes sense, I may offer tools, perspective, or next steps. If not, we slow it down. By the end of the session, most clients leave feeling clearer, lighter, and more grounded, with a better sense of what we are working on and how therapy can actually help in their day-to-day life.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

Therapy does not have to feel intimidating or overly clinical. My goal is to make it feel comfortable, approachable, and actually helpful. A lot of people come in feeling anxious, unsure what to say, or worried they will be judged. That is completely okay. Our sessions are real conversations. We talk in normal, everyday language about what is going on in your life right now. I help you slow things down, organize your thoughts, and figure out what actually needs your attention. If something is not working or does not feel helpful, we change it. I support women in building confidence, setting boundaries, improving relationships, and finding coping skills that fit their real lives. Therapy with me is collaborative, practical, and focused on helping you feel clearer, steadier, and more grounded as you move forward.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work best with women who feel anxious, overwhelmed, stuck, or emotionally exhausted and want therapy that actually feels helpful in real life. Many of my clients deal with overthinking, burnout, relationship stress, low self-confidence, or big life transitions and want help sorting through what is really going on. Therapy with me is real and conversational. We talk in normal, everyday language as real people dealing with real-world issues. For therapy to work, it has to be useful and relevant to where you are right now in your life. If it is not helping you outside of sessions, it is not worth your time. We keep things practical, honest, and focused on what actually matters. My ideal clients want open, judgment-free conversations and coping strategies they can actually use day to day. They may be working on setting boundaries, rebuilding confidence, improving relationships, managing anxiety or mood swings, or figuring out their next steps in work or life. I am especially well suited for women who want therapy to feel collaborative, empowering, and human rather than clinical or intimidating. Clients who appreciate a modern, direct approach and are open to self-reflection, growth, and learning practical tools tend to feel most comfortable working with me.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

As a licensed mental health clinician with over a decade of experience, I frequently utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients identify and challenge negative thought patterns that contribute to their emotional distress. My approach is modern and casual, creating a relaxed environment where clients feel comfortable exploring their thoughts and behaviors. I integrate CBT with humor and direct communication, which helps clients engage more openly and effectively in the therapeutic process. By focusing on practical strategies, I guide clients in developing coping skills and improving self-esteem, which are crucial for managing issues like depression, anxiety, and relationship challenges. My goal is to empower clients to become the best version of themselves by fostering a strong sense of self-worth and resilience through tailored CBT interventions.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

As a licensed mental health clinician with a decade of experience, I integrate Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) into my practice to help clients embrace their thoughts and feelings rather than fighting or feeling guilty for them. My approach is to create a supportive and relaxed environment where clients can explore their values and commit to actions that align with those values, fostering a sense of purpose and direction. I use ACT to guide clients in developing psychological flexibility, which is crucial for managing stress, anxiety, and other emotional challenges. By incorporating mindfulness and acceptance strategies, I help clients focus on the present moment and detach from unhelpful thought patterns. This method complements my holistic approach, addressing both emotional and practical aspects of life to support clients in achieving a balanced and fulfilling life.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

As a licensed mental health clinician with a decade of experience, I integrate Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) into my practice to help clients develop emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness skills. My approach is modern and casual, creating a relaxed environment where clients feel comfortable exploring their emotions and challenges. I use DBT techniques to assist clients in managing severe mental health conditions, such as trauma and mood disorders, by focusing on mindfulness and acceptance strategies. By incorporating humor and direct communication, I make DBT principles accessible and relatable, encouraging clients to engage actively in their therapeutic journey. My goal is to empower clients to cultivate self-love and forgiveness, using DBT as a tool to achieve a balanced and fulfilling life.

Motivational Interviewing

As a licensed mental health clinician with a decade of experience, I integrate Motivational Interviewing (MI) into my practice to empower clients to find their own motivation for change. My approach is modern and casual, creating a supportive environment where clients feel comfortable exploring their ambivalence and identifying personal goals. I use MI to facilitate open dialogue, helping clients articulate their desires for self-improvement, whether it's enhancing self-esteem, managing anxiety, or navigating life transitions. By combining MI with other therapeutic techniques like CBT and mindfulness, I tailor sessions to meet each client's unique needs, fostering a sense of self-worth and empowerment. My goal is to guide clients in becoming the best version of themselves, using MI to support their journey toward a more fulfilling and balanced life.

Psychoeducation

As a licensed mental health clinician with a decade of experience, I incorporate psychodynamic therapy into my practice by helping clients explore the unconscious processes that influence their current behavior and emotions. My approach is modern and casual, creating a relaxed environment where clients feel comfortable delving into past experiences and relationships that may impact their present life. I use psychodynamic techniques to help clients gain insight into unresolved conflicts and patterns, fostering self-awareness and emotional healing. By integrating this approach with other therapeutic methods like CBT and mindfulness, I tailor treatment to meet each client's unique needs, addressing both emotional and practical aspects of their lives. My goal is to empower clients to develop a strong sense of self-worth and navigate personal growth, ultimately achieving a balanced and fulfilling life.
