My path to becoming your therapist is somewhat unique compared to others in the field. Over the years, I have built a diverse professional background that began with a career in sales. I then transitioned into the Long-Term Care Industry, where I served as both an Admissions and Marketing Director and a Director of Social Services. In addition to these roles, I have been actively involved in my community, working as an HIV/AIDS Intervention Specialist and a Substance Abuse Counselor. For a decade, I also had the privilege of serving as a Licensed Pastor. On a personal level, my life has been enriched by becoming a husband, a father, and more recently, a grandfather. Throughout my journey, I have experienced many of life’s joys and victories. At the same time, I have learned valuable lessons from self-inflicted setbacks and from dealing with the consequences of choices that cannot be changed.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
There is an old saying: "One size does not fit all." My approach to counseling is centered around this belief. I am committed to adjusting my counseling modalities to meet your unique needs. Whether you require motivation today or compassion and empathy in the future, together we will create an environment that fosters your growth and development in each individual session.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
My greatest strength as a therapist is recognizing that your counseling journey isn't something you go through alone. Because I've faced my own challenges and mistakes, I know change can be tough. This helps me truly listen to you and see your potential and possibilities.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
My ideal client is someone who is ready to engage in honest self-reflection. It is important that you are truthful not only with yourself but also with me as we work together. If, at any point, I recognize that I am not the right therapist for you or that I cannot provide the support you need, I will be transparent and not waste your time. At the same time, I expect my clients to demonstrate commitment to their own growth. If you are not prepared to invest effort or are unwilling to move forward, I will not allow you to waste my time either. Progress in therapy is a shared responsibility, and your willingness to do the work is essential. An ideal client is also open to learning and practicing visualization, as this is a powerful tool in our work together. I can guide you only as far as you are willing to envision your own progress and healing. Finally, the ideal client values the power of thoughtful questions and the depth that comes from truly listening. Openness to exploration and curiosity are important qualities that will help you get the most out of our time together.

Great concept on looking first at oneself before diving into the problem.

One of the best therapy sessions. Eddie is warm, intelligent, and immediately picked up on the real issues fast. He didn’t just listen, he challenged me, and called out negative thinking as it happened, helping me understand the deeper “why.” He gave me clarity, practical tools, a to-do list, and other things to help fit my life. I left feeling understood, guided, and motivated. If you want a therapist who doesn’t sugarcoat, is solution-oriented, and genuinely helps you grow, Eddie is the one.
