LMHC, 14 years of experience
Being human is hard — from daily stress and anxiety to chronic illness or major life changes. I’m Erin Gray, LMHC, and I help people find calm, clarity, and confidence again. I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with over a decade of experience supporting adults through anxiety, trauma, grief, burnout, and chronic illness. My approach blends Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and trauma-informed care — tailored to your needs, not a one-size-fits-all model. In our work together, I’ll meet you where you are with warmth, humor, and a grounded, real-world perspective. My goal is to help you feel lighter and more in control of your emotional life.
The first session is all about connection and comfort. We’ll talk about what brought you to therapy, your goals, and what you hope to change or understand better. I’ll explain how therapy works, answer questions, and begin to learn about your background, values, and what truly matters to you. By the end, you’ll have a clear sense of direction and a plan for how we’ll move forward together.
Clients describe me as warm, conversational, and easy to open up to. I bring a calm, grounded energy and the ability to blend practical tools with compassion and humor. I also understand the complexities of balancing work, family, and health — and how those stressors can pile up. My mix of personal insight and clinical experience helps clients feel seen, supported, and equipped to make lasting change.
I often work with people navigating chronic illness, anxiety, OCD, phobias, grief, and perfectionism. Many of my clients are high achievers who appear to “have it together” but secretly feel overwhelmed, anxious, or drained. If you’re tired of spinning your wheels, feel stuck in old patterns, or just want someone who will listen without judgment — I’ll walk alongside you as you find a steadier, calmer version of yourself.
I use an eclectic approach that combines Humanistic, CBT,Mindfulness, and other therapies. By drawing from a variety of therapeutic models, I can integrate the most effective techniques to support healing and growth. This flexibility helps me respond to the complexity of each client’s experience with a more personalized and holistic approach
With years of experience using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), I’ve seen firsthand how effective it can be in helping clients break free from unhelpful thought patterns that contribute to anxiety, depression, and emotional distress. In my practice, I use CBT to help clients make meaningful connections between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Together, we work on developing more balanced thinking, strengthening coping strategies, and challenging the negative beliefs that often keep people feeling stuck. Whether we’re addressing self-esteem, emotional regulation, or stress management, CBT offers a structured, evidence-based framework that empowers clients to actively participate in their healing and create lasting, meaningful change.
I use a strength-based approach in therapy because it focuses on clients’ existing resources, resilience, and capabilities rather than just their problems. This perspective helps empower clients by building confidence and reinforcing their sense of agency. By highlighting what’s working well, we can foster hope and support meaningful, lasting change.
I regularly incorporate mindfulness-based therapy into my practice as a powerful tool to help clients manage anxiety, depression, trauma, and emotional dysregulation. Over the years, I’ve seen how mindfulness can foster greater self-awareness, emotional resilience, and the ability to respond—rather than react—to life’s challenges. I integrate techniques such as breathwork, grounding exercises, body scans, and present-moment awareness into sessions to help clients reconnect with themselves and create space between their thoughts and emotions. Whether used on its own or alongside CBT, DBT, or EMDR, mindfulness offers a calm, centered foundation that supports healing, insight, and lasting change.
Trauma-focused CBT is an evidence-based approach that helps clients process and make sense of traumatic experiences in a safe and structured way. It empowers clients to challenge unhelpful thoughts and develop coping skills to reduce trauma-related symptoms like anxiety and flashbacks. This approach promotes healing by helping clients regain control and build resilience after trauma.
