New to Grow
Hi, I’m Kira Williams, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor dedicated to helping individuals and families create meaningful change. I provide a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where clients can explore emotions, build self-awareness, and develop practical tools for personal and relational growth. In my work with individuals, I help clients identify patterns that may be keeping them stuck and guide them toward healthier ways of thinking, feeling, and relating. Whether you’re managing anxiety, depression, stress, or relationship challenges, I focus on helping you gain insight and build the confidence to make positive, lasting changes. With families, my approach centers on improving communication, rebuilding trust, and fostering understanding. I use a systemic perspective to help family members recognize how their interactions impact one another and work together to create new patterns of connection and cooperation. My goal is to help families move from conflict and disconnection toward empathy, balance, and mutual respect. My therapeutic style is collaborative, compassionate, and practical. I draw from evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Functional Family Therapy (FFT), along with mindfulness and solution-focused techniques. Sessions are tailored to each client’s goals and often include hands-on strategies to apply between sessions for continued progress. I believe growth happens when clients feel safe, heard, and supported. My role is to provide guidance, encouragement, and a structured space for reflection and change. Whether you’re seeking personal healing or stronger family relationships, therapy offers the opportunity to gain clarity, strengthen connections, and live with greater purpose and peace. If you’re ready to begin your journey toward emotional wellness and healthier relationships, I’d be honored to work with you.
In our first session, my main goal is to create a safe, welcoming, and judgment-free space where you feel comfortable sharing what brings you to therapy. We’ll start by getting to know each other and discussing what you hope to gain from the process. I’ll ask questions about your background, current challenges, and what’s been working—or not working—for you so far. This helps me understand your unique story and begin to identify patterns or goals we can focus on together. Together, we’ll begin outlining your therapy goals and discuss what approaches might best fit your needs or practical tools for managing emotions and communication. By the end of our first meeting, you’ll have a clearer sense of how we’ll work together, what therapy can look like, and the next steps to begin your growth process. Most clients leave feeling understood, encouraged, and hopeful about the journey ahead. Therapy is a collaborative process—your input, comfort, and readiness guide the pace and direction of our work. My goal is to help you feel empowered and supported from the very first session.
What stands out about my therapeutic approach is my focus on connection, collaboration, and practical growth. I combine warmth and structure to help clients gain insight and apply real tools for change. I help individuals and families improve communication, manage emotions, and strengthen relationships. Clients describe my style as supportive yet goal-oriented—I listen deeply, challenge gently, and guide with empathy. Together, we identify patterns, build self-awareness, and create realistic strategies for lasting growth. My goal is to help clients feel empowered, confident, and capable of creating healthier relationships and emotional balance in their lives.
I am best positioned to serve individuals and families who want to improve communication, emotional awareness, and connection in their relationships. My approach works well for clients who are open to self-reflection, ready for growth, and want to develop practical tools they can use beyond the therapy room. I support individuals who feel stuck in patterns of anxiety, self-doubt, overthinking, or difficulty setting boundaries. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling emotionally drained, uncertain, or disconnected from themselves or others. Together, we explore the thoughts, emotions, and experiences contributing to these challenges, while learning healthier ways to cope, communicate, and make empowered choices. My goal is to help clients build insight, confidence, and emotional balance so they can create meaningful change in their lives. With families, I work with caregivers, parents, teens, and partners experiencing conflict, distance, or communication breakdowns. Family members often love one another deeply but struggle to express it effectively. I help families identify and change negative interaction patterns, strengthen trust, and foster empathy and collaboration. My family work often includes skills for problem-solving, boundary-setting, and emotion regulation to build healthier, more connected relationships. My style is collaborative, compassionate, and practical. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Functional Family Therapy (FFT), and mindfulness-based techniques to help clients make sense of their experiences and take tangible steps forward. I’m passionate about helping clients discover new ways to relate to themselves and others with honesty, empathy, and confidence. Whether you’re seeking personal healing or stronger family bonds, I provide a supportive space where growth, understanding, and meaningful change can take root.
I have extensive experience using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients identify and change unhelpful thought patterns that contribute to emotional distress and behavioral challenges. In my practice, I use CBT to teach clients practical coping skills, increase self-awareness, and build healthier responses to stressors. Sessions often include skill-building, thought tracking, and behavioral experiments to reinforce new perspectives and habits. I tailor CBT techniques to fit each client’s unique goals, whether it’s managing anxiety, improving relationships, or increasing confidence.
