I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in the State of Florida with over 25 years of experience in the field. Throughout my career, I’ve supported clients facing a wide range of challenges, and I understand that each person’s journey is unique. I work with individuals dealing with depression, anxiety, addiction, grief and loss, trauma, life transitions, and changes that come with different stages of life. I also help clients navigate relationship and family issues, offering guidance and tools to support healthier communication and emotional well-being.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and begin building a comfortable, supportive working relationship. We’ll talk about what brings you to counseling at this point in your life and explore the concerns, challenges, or symptoms you’ve been experiencing. Together, we’ll clarify your goals and expectations so we have a shared understanding of what you hope to achieve. This conversation helps me learn about your background, strengths, and any previous counseling experiences, and it also gives you a chance to ask questions and get a feel for how I work. By the end of the session, we’ll have a clearer picture of your needs and the direction we’ll take as we move forward.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
Research shows that the relationship between a client and their therapist is one of the biggest factors in how successful therapy can be. That really highlights how important the connection we build together is. My main goal is to create a space where you feel safe, respected, and not judged. When you have that kind of environment, it becomes easier to open up, understand your feelings, and start finding healthier ways to cope. By focusing on your comfort and emotional safety, we set the stage for real growth and positive change. As we develop an open, trusting, and collaborative relationship, we’ll work through your challenges together. I use proven, effective methods to help you make intentional choices and practical changes in your everyday life. This can lead to better self-esteem, reduced anxiety and depression, and fewer social struggles. As you grow, your relationships with others often strengthen too. Throughout our time together, we’ll look at your strengths, your patterns, and the coping skills you already have. Understanding these pieces helps build resilience and supports deeper insight and healing.
