About me

I am a dedicated mental health counselor with compassion for helping individuals who have survived trauma, like Domestic Violence, Rape, Human trafficking. I also specialize and have worked with mental health issues, work with children in the foster care system, anger issues, PTSD, family and marital problems, grief, depression and anxiety. I am a Christian Counselor and have been a minister for 15 years. I was ordained in 2011. I served in the military (Army) for 21 years. Mother and Grandmother.

My treatment methods

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

Certified in DBT and will be used with client struggling with self-harm urges may learn distress tolerance techniques (like holding ice, paced breathing, or “TIP” skills—Temperature, Intense exercise, Paced breathing, Progressive relaxation) instead of engaging in harmful behavior. A client overwhelmed by anger or anxiety may practice mindfulness to slow down automatic reactions and respond more thoughtfully. A client who finds it difficult to say no may use interpersonal effectiveness skills to set boundaries while maintaining relationships. A client facing depression may work on emotion regulation by planning activities that bring small daily rewards and shift mood gradually.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

Used with clients most of the time. Experienced with the Military as a Military Family Life Counselor (MFLC) it is used with clients toFuture-Oriented: The emphasis is on what clients want to achieve rather than what went wrong in the past. Strengths-Based: Assumes clients already have resources, skills, and past successes they can build upon. Brief and Goal-Directed: Therapy is typically short-term (often 5–10 sessions), with each session designed to move the client closer to their desired future.

Christian Counseling

I am an experience Ordain Minister and have been for 14 years in my practice I use therapeutic methods ie; DBT, CBT, SFT or a combination with biblical principles, helping clients grow emotionally and spiritually while addressing life’s struggles.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

10 plus years helping clients to deal with their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are interconnected.

Eclectic

As a therapist I have used this method since being licensed because of different personalities and concerns. I use Eclectic therapy as an “customized toolkit” approach where I pull strategies from different models to best fit the client, rather than forcing the client into one set method.
