New to Grow
Hi, I’m Robin Deemer, a passionate and compassionate mental health professional dedicated to helping individuals reclaim their lives and rise above the challenges that hold them back. With years of experience in counseling and addiction recovery, I specialize in working with people navigating trauma, substance use, anxiety, problematic gambling, and major life transitions. I believe in meeting each person exactly where they are, offering a safe space free from judgment and full of hope. My approach is person centered and trauma informed, blending evidence based practices like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, EMDR, and mindfulness techniques. My mission is to walk beside you as you rebuild your life on your own terms. When I’m not in session, you’ll likely find me engaged in one of my many crafting hobbies, drinking coffee, or dreaming up new ways to make therapy more accessible and human. I’m honored to be part of your journey.
Our first session will be geared towards building rapport and getting to know each other. We will discuss what you are seeking as far as therapy and how we can work together to help you work on your goals. We will also go over confidentiality and informed consent.
My greatest strengths- I see the big picture and the smallest detail. One of my best qualities is building rapport and helping my clients feel safe and heard. I meet clients where they are, with language that affirms, empowers, and I never judge.
My ideal clients are courageous individuals navigating trauma, identity, and life transitions with a desire to heal on their own terms. They may feel overwhelmed, stuck, or unseen—but they carry a spark of resilience and a longing for transformation. Many are exploring recovery, reclaiming their voice, or seeking therapy that honors their full humanity. I welcome LGBTQIA+ and gender-diverse clients seeking affirming, identity-celebrating care, Survivors of trauma—including relational, systemic, and developmental trauma. Clients managing anxiety, depression, or emotional dysregulation, who want practical tools and compassionate support. People struggling with any addiction, in recovery from addiction, codependency, or cycles of self-neglect. Those who feel fragmented or misunderstood and are ready to rebuild with intention. Clients curious about their patterns, ready to explore CBT, DBT, EMDR, and mindfulness in a safe, client-led space My clients don’t need to have it all figured out—they just need to show up. Therapy here is not about fixing—it’s about remembering your wholeness, one piece at a time.
I believe healing begins with dignity, empathy, and client-led care. Rooted in a person-centered approach, I create a space where every individual is seen, heard, and empowered to reclaim their story. Sessions are guided by unconditional positive regard, deep listening, and authentic connection—inviting you to explore your experiences without judgment and at your own pace. I blend trauma-informed principles with creative resources. belief that transformation is possible. Whether developing treatment plans, designing visual tools, or offering psychotherapy, my work centers the client’s voice and honors their resilience.
I have used CBT in therapy for as long as I have worked in the field. Drawing from both person-centered and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) frameworks, I aim to create a space where clients feel deeply seen and actively supported in reshaping their thoughts, behaviors, and self-beliefs. Sessions blend empathic listening and unconditional positive regard with practical CBT tools—helping you identify patterns, challenge distortions, and build skills for lasting change. My trauma-informed approach honors each individual’s pace and story, while offering structured pathways toward empowerment and resilience.
I incorporate Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) into therapy as a powerful tool for healing trauma and reclaiming emotional balance. Grounded in a person-centered approach, EMDR sessions are paced with care, allowing you to safely process distressing memories while building inner resilience. I blend EMDR with empathic listening and cognitive strategies, helping clients rewire limiting beliefs and restore a sense of wholeness—one piece at a time.
I use mindfulness in therapy as a grounding practice that helps you reconnect with the present moment, regulate emotions, and cultivate self-awareness. Whether through breathwork, body scans, or mindful reflection, and art as therapy to invite you to slow down, notice your internal landscape, and respond with compassion rather than reactivity. Mindfulness is offered gently and accessibly, honoring each client’s pace and readiness, and supporting healing from trauma through embodied safety and intentional presence. I use activities such as safe space and container exercises as well.
I use Motivational Interviewing to honor each client’s autonomy and inner wisdom. Through collaborative dialogue and compassionate curiosity, MI helps clients explore ambivalence, clarify values, and strengthen motivation for change. My approach is nonjudgmental and empowering, centering the client’s voice while gently guiding them toward their own goals with dignity and self-trust.
