LPC, 19 years of experience
I hold a degree in Counseling Psychology and have been a Licensed Professional Counselor for nearly 20 years. My experience spans working with children, adolescents, and families across inpatient, outpatient, and school settings. I am dedicated to meeting clients where they are and using evidence-based practices to guide them through effective treatment plans. I believe that a strong therapeutic relationship is the foundation of meaningful progress, and I am committed to helping clients identify their needs, build on their strengths, and achieve their personal goals.
In our first session, my priority is to create a safe and comfortable space where you feel heard and supported. We’ll spend time getting to know each other, discussing what brings you to therapy, and identifying your goals for our work together. I’ll ask questions to better understand your background, current challenges, and strengths. Together, we’ll begin shaping a plan that fits your unique needs. My goal is for you to leave the first session with a sense of hope, clarity, and the reassurance that you don’t have to navigate this journey alone.
What stands out about my approach is the balance between evidence-based methods and a warm, supportive therapeutic relationship. I draw from proven practices to address concerns and tailor each treatment plan to fit the unique needs and strengths of the client. I focus on meeting clients where they are, helping them build practical coping skills, and guiding them toward lasting change. Many of my clients share that they feel truly understood and empowered in our work together, which allows them to make meaningful progress, improve self-esteem, and develop greater resilience in the face of life’s challenges.
I specialize in supporting those who are navigating challenges such as anxiety, depression, behavioral issues, and emotional disturbances. Many of my clients come to me seeking healthier coping skills, strategies to manage stress, support during times of grief and loss, or navigating experiences with trauma. I also work with people who struggle with self-esteem and benefit from approaches that foster resilience and confidence. By incorporating evidence-based practices along with mindfulness techniques, I help clients better understand their emotions, strengthen relationships, and move toward meaningful growth and lasting change.
I’ve studied ACT as part of third-wave cognitive-behavioral therapies. Its core aim is to help people build psychological flexibility—the ability to stay present, accept difficult internal experiences, and still move toward a meaningful life guided by values.
I have training and experience using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which is one of the most evidence-based approaches for treating a range of concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and behavioral issues. CBT emphasizes the connection between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, and how shifting one can influence the others.
DBT’s balance of acceptance and change strategies makes it particularly powerful—it validates a client’s current experience while also guiding them toward building new skills and healthier behaviors.
I value mindfulness-based work because it shifts clients’ relationship with their thoughts and feelings, helping them observe experiences without becoming overwhelmed or reactive.
I have training and experience in Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), a goal-directed, strengths-based approach that emphasizes building solutions rather than focusing extensively on problems. I appreciate that SFBT empowers clients by highlighting their existing resources, past successes, and potential pathways toward change.
