New to Grow
Peace and Love! I'm Che'vaniece, and I am honored that you are considering me to help you along your healing journey. As a Nationally Certified Counselor and Licensed Professional Counselor in the District of Columbia, & Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in Maryland I bring a wealth of experience and dedication to our sessions. Additionally, I am a certified School Counselor and a Certified Sex Therapy Informed Professional. My background allows me to support you through various challenges, including stress and anxiety, intimacy-related issues, motivation/self-esteem, LGBTQ+ related issues, and depression. Taking the first step to sign up for therapy can take courage, and I am proud of you for getting started! Remember, you don't have to go through this alone. Let's embark on this journey together and create a path towards a healthier, happier you.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
In our first session together, you can expect a calm, welcoming space where you are free to show up exactly as you are. We’ll spend time getting to know one another, exploring what brings you to therapy, and discussing your goals, hopes, and any concerns you may have. I’ll ask questions to better understand your experiences, but there is no pressure to share anything before you’re ready. We’ll also talk through what therapy might look like moving forward—your preferences, the pace that feels comfortable for you, and the approaches that best support your needs. By the end of the session, my goal is for you to feel grounded, heard, and confident that you’re in a safe, affirming environment where healing and growth can unfold.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
One of my greatest strengths as a therapist is my ability to create a genuinely safe, affirming space where clients feel fully seen and understood. I approach each person with deep respect, curiosity, and cultural awareness, honoring the unique identities, backgrounds, and lived experiences that shape who they are. My style is client-centered and compassionate, blending clinical expertise with empathy, authenticity, and a judgment-free presence. I support clients in navigating stress, self-esteem, intimacy, identity exploration, relationships, and major life transitions while also helping them build practical tools they can use outside of sessions. Clients often share that they appreciate my ability to balance gentle guidance with honest reflection—holding space for healing while also encouraging meaningful insight and growth. Above all, I’m committed to helping you reconnect with your strengths, develop self-awareness, and move toward a more grounded, confident, and authentic version of yourself.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
My ideal client is someone who is open to exploring their inner world and ready to take meaningful steps toward growth, even if they aren’t quite sure where to start. They may be navigating stress, identity questions, relationship or intimacy concerns, or simply feeling disconnected from the best version of themselves. What matters most is their willingness to show up authentically and allow space for healing, curiosity, and self-compassion. I especially enjoy working with individuals who value a supportive, affirming, and collaborative therapeutic relationship where they can feel seen, heard, and empowered on their journey.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
My approach to therapy is client-centered, meaning I will tailor our dialogue and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. My goal is to ensure you are the best version of yourself every single day. I am committed to providing a safe space for you to process and heal, where you can feel heard and understood. Together, we can navigate life's challenges and work towards your personal growth and well-being.
