Hello there, my name is Suzanne. Do you yearn for relief from feeling overwhelmed and exhausted from the chaos of life? Are you suffering from the pain from past experiences, limiting your ability to feel happy and fulfilled? Has there been a limit to your creativity and joy due to sadness, worry, or health issues? I help my clients rebuild confidence and better understand emotional responses to live a life of authenticity and peace. Together we will explore your inner self and build an understanding of the experiences that shaped you into who you are. I have extensive experience in health and wellness, especially stress management and mind-body practices. We may practice mindfulness and grounding to help increase a sense of regulation and peace. We may build communication skills to improve the quality of relationships with ourselves and others. I offer support through life stressors, transitions and assist in understanding the past to improve the future.

Psychodynamic

Using talk therapy to focus on exploring unconscious processes and past to help understand current behaviors and emotions, to learn new ways to navigate and resolve conflicts and develop healthier patterns.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

An action-oriented approach to psychotherapy that has grown from traditional CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy) approach that integrates mindfulness and grounding techniques. Learn ways to stop avoiding, denying, and struggling with emotions and situations, to move into acceptance and effective emotional responses. This approach also helps to create goals and action steps to make necessary changes to thoughts, feelings and behavior that keep us stuck.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

A skill building approach to psychotherapy to help increase self-esteem, function and stress management by addressing mindset and building skills for intense emotional responses, intrusive thoughts, boundary setting and communication.

EMDR

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a therapy approach used to help heal from trauma or distressing life experiences. It involves phases, safe spaces, and bilateral stimulation (through moving the eyes in a specific way, tapping, or lights) while processing traumatic memories to reduce the emotional distress and response associated with memories of the experience.
