About me

Hi there! You've made it this far and I'm glad you're seeking support. Life can be difficult, especially with the holidays coming up. I'm Carol, a Licensed Professional Counselor with Caribbean roots, passionate about helping people like you lead emotionally healthy and fulfilling lives and move from feeling overwhelmed, worried, anxious or self‑doubt toward clarity. I’m here to help you feel seen, heard, validated, empowered and reclaim your voice and your strength.  I provide a sensitive space where your experiences are understood and respected.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

The first session might be emotional, but it’s also okay because you've taken the first step and you're not doing it alone. We'll discuss the things that you're struggling with, identify your goals and expectations as we begin to build our therapeutic relationship.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My approach is warm, collaborative, and tailored to your unique needs and goals. I provide an authentic and non-judgmental presence with a flexible, culturally attuned toolbox to support your unique journey through life's challenges and to help you create your own path forward.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

If you find yourself struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, family issues, life transitions, feeling lonely or simply feeling overwhelmed by the pressure to 'have it all together'? Then lets work together to combat them. Brené Brown said "You may not control all the events that happen to you, but you can decide not to be reduced by them." You don’t have to navigate life’s challenges alone.

I guide clients in identifying the connection between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. We work together to identify cognitive distortions, challenge negative automatic thoughts, and test alternative perspectives through behavioral experiments.

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)

I help clients identify emotional needs and vulnerabilities that drive patterns of interaction that create distance or conflict in their relationships

Humanistic

I believe that healing often begins through the experience of a safe therapeutic relationship where clients feels deeply understood and valued.

Strength-Based

I utilize the Strength-Based method to help clients reinforce progress and resilience, through collaboration to set meaningful, realistic goals that align with their values and strengths.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I use DBT-informed strategies to support clients in building skills across key areas such as mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. I work collaboratively with clients to help them understand the dialectical nature of change; balancing acceptance with the need for growth and to develop healthier coping strategies.
