Hi everyone! I am a licensed professional counselor in Arizona with over 20 years of experience supporting adults, seniors, and diverse populations. I offer a collaborative, nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard and empowered, drawing on CBT, mindfulness, interpersonal therapy, and positive/strengths-based counseling to guide healing and meaningful change. I am passionate about helping people like yourself to find peace, healing and new ways of interacting and relating with yourself and others. I would be honored to support you in your journey to find the version of yourself and the quality of life that you are wanting so that you can achieve your goals and move forward with confidence.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session following your intake, you can expect a calm, supportive space where you don’t need to have everything perfectly organized or figured out. We’ll talk about what’s been weighing on you—whether that’s anxiety, shame, sadness, feeling overwhelmed, or anything else—and explore what you’re hoping to work on moving forward. I’ll ask a few gentle questions to better understand your experiences, and together we’ll start identifying the patterns and challenges you want to shift. You’ll also get a sense of how we’ll work together and a few simple, realistic strategies you can begin practicing between sessions. My goal is for you to leave feeling heard, understood, and more hopeful about the path ahead.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

What sets my work apart is the combination of warmth, clarity, and genuine presence I bring to every session. I create a space where people feel safe enough to be honest, supported enough to explore difficult emotions, and encouraged enough to start making meaningful changes. My approach is grounded in compassion and practicality—I help clients understand what’s happening beneath the surface while also giving them tools they can use in their daily lives. I’ve spent years working with individuals facing many different emotional challenges, and that experience has taught me how to meet people exactly where they are. I’m skilled at helping clients untangle emotional patterns, build healthier self‑beliefs, and practice coping strategies that truly make a difference. Whether someone is new to therapy or returning after a break, I offer a steady, non‑judgmental presence and a clear path forward.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal client is someone who’s been feeling anxious, ashamed, sad, overwhelmed, or simply weighed down by emotions they can’t quite sort through on their own. They may be tired of holding everything in, unsure where to start, but aware that something needs to shift. What matters most is their willingness to show up with honesty, curiosity, and an openness to explore what’s been getting in the way of feeling more grounded and at ease. They’re ready to look at their patterns with compassion, try out new healing and coping strategies, and practice small, intentional changes between sessions. My ideal client values a supportive, non‑judgmental space where they can be guided, encouraged, and gently challenged as they build skills that help them feel more capable, connected, and emotionally steady.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

While I draw from several evidence-based approaches, the one that is a primary one for me is CBT. I believe that our thoughts have a direct and profound impact on our feelings/emotions and subsequent behavior. I provide psychoeducation about it as well as help clients to identify how their thoughts are playing a role in their current experiences and how to make changes in that area.

Interpersonal

I use this approach when clients are experiencing challenges in relationships. We examine how these relationships are impacting their mood/emotional well-being and how their mood may have an impact on these relationships. I help them to identify how this is happening for them, and I provide support and psychoeducation to help them improve healthy interpersonal communication and boundaries.

Strength-Based

I draw from this approach when helping clients build/improve self-esteem and helping them feel confident in their ability to make decisions and choices about various aspects of their lives. Positive Psychology is also an approach I use that intersects quite a bit with this approach.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I have been using ACT more just recently. While using this in therapy, I help clients to learn about how some of their emotional experiences they are having are completely appropriate for what is going on and teach them how they can move toward desired values as opposed to trying to avoid or move away from the feelings they are having. When they learn how to just sit with what they are feeling and move towards values instead of away from discomfort and pain, they are able to still make the desired changes they want, despite what is going in in life and their feelings and emotions related to it.
