Hello, I'm Rachel, and look forward to meeting you! I am happy to be working with Grow Therapy, where I hope to offer a sense of focus, consistency, and utilize my strengths to support you. I hope to guide you beyond a short-term sense of comfort, into a deeper space of peace. If you need to work through something, but could use a little more support to get there, it is easier to face with someone there. I accept people from all beliefs and cultures, so there are no expectations about this. I offer regular talk therapy and tailor it to each individual. You may request spiritual integration in your sessions if desired. I am a committed Christian, but we do not need to have the same faith. For all clients, I aim to provide a safe space to help strengthen your overall wellness. This includes non-judgmental care and respect for whatever situation you are in. If you have suffered spiritual or any kind of abuse, you are welcome here.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

If desired, I offer a free 10 minute video meet & greet to ensure the best fit for our professional relationship. You can ask questions you have at that time. For initial sessions, we will ease into what aspects of your history and needs that you are comfortable sharing and go from there. The first one will be more Q&A, getting acquainted, making a plan, and afterwards will determine the best place to begin. We will also cover one's perspective and readiness for therapy and gently address what barriers may need addressed before getting into deeper matters.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I use a merciful, gentle approach. At times I may need to redirect our focus but this will be with your stated goals and long term progress in mind. I will always be a learner of you. I will not give you all the answers, nor do I have them, but will be a third party to assist you to find them. It matters to me how you feel about your sessions, and am open to a request for modification. I plan to be praying for guidance through our sessions, that I may be given strength to be a (very imperfect) reflection of Divine care and concern for all humankind!

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I'm primarily geared to women's concerns as a specialty. Are you feeling like you are at the mercy of your emotional pain, searching for your true identity, purpose, how to thrive in or beyond your situation? Are you struggling with God/your Higher Power, relationships, your past, motherhood, or your self-perspective? Were you adopted, grieving infertility, or have a traumatic history..? Whatever your experiences, I hope to help gently guide you through the difficulty, towards spiritual, psychological and emotional wellness where you are more free from it's effect. For those who want spiritually based counseling, I am glad to be a supportive third party to help strengthen your confidence in your spiritual identity or with your journey in general.

My treatment methods

Child Parent Psychotherapy

My undergrad is in Biblical Studies where I focused on Family Ministries, International Ministries, and Pre-counseling. As a Clinical therapist in community mental health, I was able to assist clients in the area of spiritual wellness upon request. Without verbally disclosing my faith practice, I operated in the area of my spiritual gift of mercy, supporting the dignity and worth of the person. I sought to reflect Christ's love as an image bearer and to meagerly exemplify the result of His presence within us: love [unselfish concern for others], joy, peace, patience , kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control while interacting with my clients. I am excited to be able to meet with you in a more open fashion if you desire, guiding you towards the Prince of Peace to calm your anxiety, for example! I also help clients confront subconscious "rules" that can lead to unnecessary stress and perfectionism. We begin to embrace a more compassionate approach focused on growth and progress. I also assist clients as they make peace with their past, themselves, others, and their Maker through a better understanding of the Bible's message of unconditional love and forgiveness for those seeking it.

Cognitive Processing (CPT)

I help guide clients as they are ready, to pinpoint and deconstruct the false notions that so often come with memories of past trauma. Each time I use these methods, a client has an unexpected breakthrough as they realize a new refreshing way to look at it, where suddenly it doesn't seem so daunting anymore!

Attachment-based

I help clients identify their subconscious wounds they may have carried for a lifetime, never realizing that what they are believing beneath the pain could be what is wreaking havoc in many of their relationships. Anyone can gradually build a more secure style of relating, whether you tend to be more anxious, shy away from intimacy, or even if relationships are all just downright confusing to you. There is hope.
