New to Grow
My name is Erika Gardner. I am a licensed professional counselor in GA. I have been working in the behavioral health field since 2007. I have a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Psychology. I believe therapy works best when it feels real, supportive, and judgment-free. My role is to walk alongside you as you explore patterns, build insight, and develop tools that actually fit your life. I work with adults who are feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected—from themselves or others. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or major life changes, my goal is to help you feel more grounded, capable, and aligned with who you are becoming.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
Your first therapy session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and begin building a supportive, collaborative relationship. We’ll talk about what brought you to therapy, what you’re hoping to work on, and any questions or concerns you may have. I’ll also explain confidentiality, how sessions typically work, and my approach to therapy so you know what to expect moving forward. There’s no pressure to share everything right away or to have clear goals—many people feel nervous or unsure during their first session, and that’s completely normal. We’ll move at a pace that feels comfortable for you. By the end of the session, we may discuss initial goals or next steps, but the focus is on helping you feel heard, supported, and understood.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
My greatest strengths as a therapist include creating a warm, nonjudgmental space where clients feel safe to be themselves and explore what’s truly going on beneath the surface. I approach therapy with empathy, curiosity, and respect, meeting clients where they are while supporting meaningful growth at a pace that feels right for them.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I enjoy working with individuals who are experiencing anxiety, depression, or navigating life transitions. My ideal clients may feel overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure of themselves, and are seeking a supportive space to better understand their emotions, build coping skills, and create meaningful change. Clients who benefit most from working with me are open to self-reflection and growth, even if they’re unsure where to begin. Whether you’re managing ongoing stress, low mood, or adjusting to a new chapter in life, I aim to provide a compassionate, collaborative environment where you can feel supported and empowered.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
I believe therapy should be practical, collaborative, and centered on your strengths and goals. Rather than focusing solely on problems, I help clients identify what’s already working, clarify what they want to be different, and take meaningful steps toward positive change. I strive to create a supportive, nonjudgmental space where clients can feel empowered and hopeful about their progress.
Trauma Informed Care
I take a trauma-informed approach to therapy, which means I focus on creating a safe, supportive environment and honoring each client’s lived experiences. We’ll move at a pace that feels right for you, with an emphasis on choice, collaboration, and building skills that support healing and long-term well-being.
