New to Grow
I treat a wide range of mental and emotional concerns, and I'm particularly passionate about helping people with grief, accident-related trauma, religious trauma, and infertility. I use practical, evidence-based treatments like EMDR and CBT to help with immediate symptom relief, and I take an intuitive approach drawing from ACT, narrative therapy, and solutions-focused therapy, always tailoring our work to your needs and goals. I use a lot of analogies, quotes, and references. Clients often describe me as very easy to talk to.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
I use evidence-based modalities in treatment. The type of therapy depends on your needs. My approach is strengths-based and person-centered. In your first session, we'll determine an initial treatment plan together to find what's right for your needs and values. Whatever it is you're facing, in subsequent sessions, we'll explore your symptoms, identify your goals, and create a treatment plan targeted to addressing your needs.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
As a licensed mental health counselor, I bring expertise related to therapy, and I recognize you as the expert on your own life and experiences. I know how important it is to be seen clearly and respected unconditionally, having worked through my own difficult times.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
You know life can be better than this, and you're tired of waiting for it to change. Therapy can help you live the life you long for. Whether you're facing trauma, anxiety, burnout, depression, or perinatal concerns, you deserve contentment—and a way forward. You're capable of finding that path forward, and you don’t have to seek it alone. In therapy, my role is to walk with you.
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) is a mindfulness-based therapy that helps people accept difficult thoughts and feelings rather than fighting them, while committing to actions that align with their core personal values to build a richer, more meaningful life, improving overall psychological flexibility and well-being. Instead of trying to change or eliminate negative experiences, ACT teaches skills to relate differently to them, fostering presence and purposeful living, and is effective for anxiety, depression, chronic pain, and stress.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a structured, goal-oriented talk therapy that helps people identify and change negative thought patterns and behaviors, focusing on the connection between thoughts, feelings, and actions to develop practical coping strategies for mental health issues like depression, anxiety, and PTSD, as well as other challenges like chronic pain or insomnia.
EMDR
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy is a psychotherapy that helps people heal from trauma and distressing life experiences by reprocessing disturbing memories, often using guided eye movements or other bilateral stimulation (like tapping) while focusing on the memory, which reduces its emotional charge and allows normal healing to resume.
Narrative
Narrative therapy is a collaborative approach that helps people re-author their life stories, viewing themselves as separate from their problems, which are seen as external forces rather than inherent traits.
