New to Grow
I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC) in the state of Arizona and Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in the state of Montana. I currently works independently in my own practice with severe addictions, intimacy disorders, and complex trauma-based cases. I work with those who are impacted by compulsive behaviors, intimacy disorders, and betrayed spouses, as well as general mental health struggles such as anger, anxiety, and depression. Trained in several trauma rehabilitation techniques such as Somatic Experiencing (SE), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP) in Polyvagal Theory, and Dielectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), I am a Certified Sexual Addiction Therapist (CSAT) and Meadows Post Induction Therapy (PIT) trained therapist. I am a Masters-level clinician from Capella University with a minor in addiction and substance use disorders.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
Clients can plan on getting to know each other, understanding the process of therapy, and to identify a direction for future sessions.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I have more post-graduate education in trauma and addictions related to relationships and intimacy disorders than the majority of therapists I am familiar with.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I serve those clients who struggle with distressing life events. There are thousands of ways this distress can manifest.
EMDR
I am EMDR-trained and incorporate somatic practices with this for trauma resolution.
Polyvagal Therapy
I incorporate PV into all my practice styles. Polyvagal Theory describes Nervous System functioning and effects on behavior and wellbeing.
Trauma Informed Care
I prefer trauma-focused as this term correctly depicts the understanding of how trauma impacts an adult in relationships, behaviors, and thinking, as well as treats the deeply rooted symptoms. Trauma-informed does not implicate adequate address of this approach.
