Hi there, I'm Dr. Christina. Do you have a hard time regulating your emotions? Are you struggling to find meaning and value in life? Is it hard to be kind to yourself? How are your relationships with others? I am a licensed clinical psychologist with several years of experience working in clinical psychology settings, ranging from an inpatient psychiatric hospital to a women's residential substance use disorder treatment program. I help people who are easily overwhelmed to learn distress tolerance techniques and stress management skills. Together, we can strategize about what to do to help you to manage your emotions. We'll use a whole self approach, addressing the needs of your mind, body and spirit. I also integrate mindfulness, yoga and art to help you develop a stronger relationship with yourself. Whether you're dealing with overwhelm, relationship issues or cycles of anxiety and depression, I'm here to help. Seeking therapy can feel scary but you're making the right choice. You deserve a safe space to heal and grow. In our sessions together, I'll meet you with compassion and evidence-based techniques so you can overcome the hangups and habits holding you back. Let's work together!
During the intake process, we will review your background, your treatment goals, and assess whether we would be a good fit to work together. Following, we can create a treatment plan and create a strategy together that moves you towards creating a life that you love.
I have worked with toddlers, children, adolescents, adults, military, and geriatric populations in individual therapy, group therapy, personality testing, and neurocognitive assessments. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, substance use, addiction, trauma, eating disorders, social anxiety, mood disorders, and psychosis. I am also interested in working with individuals with traumatic brain injury, mild/moderate cognitive impairment, autistic spectrum disorder, intellectual disability, and their caregivers. While I do work in a general way with all ages and a variety of groups, my focus population is on adults who are appropriate for mental health treatment via a telehealth platform.
My primary patients are adults with a variety of mental health concerns. I work in a one-on-one setting with individual patients who are high functioning enough to be deemed appropriate for a remote therapy practice. If your level of mental health is too severe, I will refer you to a higher level of care, which may be an in person provider, an outpatient program, or an inpatient program.
We will explore how thoughts, feelings, and behaviors all impact one another, and how making change in any one of those areas can create a snowball effect in the others.
We will increase our practical skills for distress tolerance and emotional regulation, improve interpersonal effectiveness, and add on mindfulness to help you improve your resilience in life and get through challenging times.
