Hi! I completed my degree at Capital Seminary & Graduate School, where I earned my Master’s degree in Family, Couple, and Marriage Counseling. I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC) with a heart for walking alongside others while they work through various types of challenges and difficulties in life. I believe therapy is not a one size fits all situation, I work in tandem with my clients, I listen to their needs, and we create treatment that will help you achieve your goals.
In our first session together, we'll start with getting to know each other, what you want to work on, identifying any challenges you are facing. We will then look at the goals you would like to achieve and steps to get you to these goals creating a plan that fits your needs.
I have had experience in many areas of life. I experience working with those impacted by substance abuse, enmeshment/codependency, boundaries, trauma, relationship struggles, life struggles, betrayal from unwanted sexual behaviors, depression, grief/loss, anxiety and life changes. I have worked as a peer counselor for over ten years before obtaining my license and starting my career as a therapist so that I could reach and help more people.
I work with couples and individuals ages 18 and up. Everyone is valuable, worthy, and deserves to have support. I offer a safe, non-judgmental environment to work through any challenges you are facing, whether that be life changes, trauma, sexual integrity, betrayal trauma, anxiety, depression, grief/loss, relationship struggles or struggling with using boundaries.
Cognitive Behavioral is one of many different treatment methods I use. It especially helps with Trauma, negative or unwanted thoughts, feelings and behaviors.
I enjoy using Strength-based therapy with my clients because it helps them identify the strengths they already possess in life, have used or want to use, and it helps to reduce symptoms and increase their quality of life.
I enjoy using humanistic therapy which is really just a way to describe focusing on the person as a whole. Helping them overcome the difficulties in life through their own personal growth.
Acceptance and commitment therapy works by combining strategies like mindfulness, acceptance and actions or behaviors.
