My name is Vince. I’m a licensed clinical social worker. I’ve worked in inpatient rehab as well as outpatient mental health facilities. I help people manage their anxiety and depression by learning coping skills. I help people process their past experiences and help people identify problem areas to improve. I help people develop their identity and their self-esteem to help become the person they need to be for themselves in their family.
I’m an easy-going person and during the first session I’m usually listening to what kinds of problems a person is struggling with. I’m not the kind of person to oppress upon their own values and opinions. I rather focus on what the values and opinions are of the client which help me guide the therapeutic process. Also, in other words, the first session is a lot of me listening and discovering things that we can work on together as therapeutic alliance.
I would say my strength provider is my patience and willingness to understand where a person is coming from without judgment. I tried to create a safe space so people can see exactly what’s on their mind so we can see the problem as it is. I feel that I am also very capable of challenging people’s thought processes and cognitive distortions so that way they can learn to think better.
I have experience working with people that struggle with substance abuse addiction, as well as other kinds of addictions. I help treat people that struggle with anxiety and depression. I help people process difficult emotions that make life more difficult and help people come to a point of acceptance.
I use modality such as ACT and DBT to help clients learn coping skills, develop their identity, and learn how to manage boundaries.
I use acceptance and commitment therapy to help clients build more discipline and learn to accept things that are outside of their control. Ultimately to help people focus on what truly matters.
