New to Grow
Hello! I’m Angelina Wilson, a Licensed Professional Counselor serving individuals across Georgia’s Coastal Empire through compassionate, client-centered telehealth services. I bring extensive experience from inpatient and outpatient care, group therapy settings, and residential treatment programs. I work with individuals navigating a wide range of challenges, including trauma, PTSD, and substance misuse. My therapeutic approach is grounded in empathy, respect, and collaboration, empowering you to take an active role in your healing and treatment goals. I draw from several evidence-based modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and Integrative/Holistic approaches. Originally from Denver, Colorado, I proudly served in the United States Army, where I witnessed firsthand how uniquely each person experiences trauma and life stressors. These experiences deeply shape the lens through which I support my clients today. Now based in Savannah and a devoted mother, I am committed to helping others discover clarity, resilience, and the best version of themselves.
Our first session together is a gentle beginning—a chance for us to connect and for you to share whatever feels meaningful. You’re welcome to talk about your story, what brought you here, and what you hope to find in therapy. I’ll ask about your goals and the challenges you’re facing, but above all, I want you to feel safe, comfortable, and free to share anything that helps me understand your world. This time is also for you to ask questions—about me, how therapy works, or anything else that helps you feel supported as we start working together. My hope is that you leave our first meeting feeling heard, accepted, and reassured that you’ve found a space where you can grow, heal, and be yourself. I’m truly looking forward to beginning this journey with you.
I’m a naturally loud, energetic, and enthusiastic person who genuinely loves helping others discover what might be standing in the way of their peace. I blend the directness I learned in the military with deep compassion and understanding, creating a therapeutic approach that’s both honest and human—sometimes even fun. I often use humor to help balance the heaviness, confusion, and pain that can come with facing life’s challenges. My goal is to create a space where you can say or share anything without fear of judgment or criticism. The world is stressful enough—therapy shouldn’t add to that.
As your therapist, my goal is to stand with you through even the darkest moments and remind you that you are never alone. I strive to help each client recognize their own strength and resilience, no matter how overwhelming their challenges may feel. I offer direct yet compassionate support and a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can openly express your worries, feelings, and doubts. My hope is that, regardless of what is happening in our ever-changing world, you have a place where you feel heard, validated, and secure. Together, we will work toward building the confidence and inner peace you need to navigate whatever comes your way.
I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) daily in my work. I prefer this method because it emphasizes the important connection between our thoughts, behaviors, and emotions—and how these patterns ultimately shape our lives. Becoming aware of these relationships empowers us to effect meaningful and lasting change.
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is especially useful for individuals struggling with stress intolerance. It offers practical skills to manage overwhelming emotions and builds healthier coping strategies, particularly through mindfulness, distress tolerance, and emotional regulation.
Gestalt therapy helps clients develop a deeper understanding of themselves by focusing on their present-moment thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It emphasizes the therapeutic relationship as a space where clients can explore their experiences safely and authentically. By encouraging individuals to take ownership of their actions and emotions, Gestalt therapy fosters greater self-awareness and supports meaningful, positive change.
