LCSW, 33 years of experience
I am a straight-forward but empathic therapist, who also appreciates the same from her clients. I also believe in the social work mission of starting where the client is, so sessions are based upon that analogy. I have experience in many areas, including hospital, foster care, group homes, forensics, Veterans, home health, etc. I received my Masters of Social Science Administration from Case Western Reserve Univerity, and my Doctorate of Psychology from California Southern University.
The first session may be a bit dry, due to required initial session material but after that, sesssions are based strictly upon the client's needs.
I am open, honest, professional, articulate, & empathic. You also get what you put into it w/ me.
I work best w/ those who are honest w/ both themselves & others, do not rely on the therapist to do all the talking in session, & who are responsible, dedicated, and serious about their role as a client. I work well w/ those struggling w/ medical conditions, grief, PTSD, & life transitions. Sign-on w/ me, if this sounds like a match to you. - FYI... I do not have the administrative assistance to provide letters, nor am I compensated to meet with DCFS workers. If you need and/or are seeking these services, we may not be a good match. Otherwise, I look forward to meeting with you.
CBT is used to assist clients w/ seeing their experience in a more positive way.
