Hi there! I'm Katie and I am a clinically trained psychotherapist. Are you looking to create a healthy and more fulfilled life? As your therapist, I will provide a non-judgmental and empathetic place to explore the challenges you face and empower you to make the changes you desire. I love to help children, adolescents and young adults work through their everyday struggles, traumatic stress, and everything in between. *When scheduling a session, please book on the hour! Thanks so much! :)
What to Expect in Your First Session Starting therapy can feel a little nerve-wracking, but my goal is to make our first session a comfortable, judgment-free space where you can share what’s on your mind at your own pace. We’ll start by getting to know each other. I’ll ask about what brought you to therapy, what’s been feeling difficult lately, and what you hope to gain from our work together. If you’re not sure where to start, that’s completely okay—I’ll help guide the conversation. We’ll also talk about: ✅ Your past experiences with therapy (if any) and what has or hasn’t worked for you ✅ Any challenges you’re facing—whether it’s anxiety, relationships, emotional ups and downs, or something else ✅ Your strengths and coping skills, so we can build on what’s already working ✅ Your goals—whether they’re big, small, or still unclear, we’ll explore what feeling better looks like for you The first session is also a chance for you to get a feel for how I work and see if we’re a good fit. Therapy is a collaborative process, and I want you to feel safe and supported. By the end of our session, we’ll discuss next steps, and if you decide to continue, we’ll start creating a plan that feels right for you.
Unconditional Positive Regard, Genuineness and Empathetic Understanding. I want to be on your team and help you reach your goals!
You don’t have to navigate this alone. If you feel overwhelmed by your emotions, stuck in unhealthy patterns, or exhausted from trying to meet everyone’s expectations, I see you. You might find yourself battling anxiety, perfectionism, or self-doubt—constantly overthinking or feeling like you’re “too much” or “not enough.” Maybe you struggle with boundaries in relationships, carry the weight of family dynamics, or feel frustrated with impulsivity or emotional ups and downs. I specialize in working with preteens, teens, and adults who experience anxiety, OCD, ADHD, emotional dysregulation, and relationship challenges, Borderline Personality Disorder, and Bipolar Disorder. Whether you're trying to manage perfectionism, navigate difficult family relationships, or build confidence in yourself, I provide a compassionate, structured space where you can develop the skills to find balance and relief. Using evidence-based approaches like DBT, I help you regulate emotions, break free from unhealthy patterns, and build a life that feels more aligned with who you truly are. Together, we’ll work on practical tools to manage stress, set healthy boundaries, and cultivate self-acceptance. If you’re ready to feel more in control of your emotions, relationships, and life, I’d love to support you.
We will be using Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) as a tool to transform, heal and grow. Through virtual sessions, I guide individuals in developing mindfulness, emotional regulation, distress tolerance and interpersonal skills. By adapting DBT principles to the virtual environment, I empower clients to navigate challenges, foster resilience, and create meaningful changes in their lives, ultimately fostering a path toward lasting contentment and fulfillment.
