I provide a supportive, practical space focused on helping you feel more balanced, grounded, and capable in daily life. My approach blends talk therapy with mindfulness, meditation, and yoga, along with evidence-based skills from CBT, DBT, ACT, and CPT. I work with individuals navigating stress, emotional regulation, life transitions, and those exploring or living with neurodivergence. I also support clients recovering from narcissistic or emotionally unhealthy relationship patterns, with a focus on rebuilding self-trust, boundaries, and stability. Sessions are collaborative, structured when helpful, and tailored to how you function best. We focus on building practical tools, increasing self-awareness, and creating sustainable change that fits your everyday life. I offer telehealth sessions and strive to create a calm, approachable environment where growth feels manageable and accessible.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Our first session is focused on clarity and understanding what’s most important for you right now. We’ll talk through what brought you in, what feels stuck or overwhelming, and what you’d like to be different. You don’t need to have the perfect words — my role is to help make sense of things and identify where to start. Sessions are collaborative and structured when helpful. I’ll ask thoughtful questions, share observations, and help you begin connecting patterns between your thoughts, emotions, habits, and environment in a way that feels manageable and useful. By the end of the first session, many clients leave with: • A clearer understanding of what’s contributing to their current challenges • Insight into patterns that may be keeping them stuck • One or two practical tools or next steps to begin using right away This isn’t about rushing the process — it’s about helping things feel more organized, understandable, and workable from the start. If you’re used to more open-ended therapy, you may find this approach a bit more active and goal-oriented, with a focus on practical skills and real-life application.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My approach is structured, practical, and focused on helping you understand how you function — not just what you feel. I work especially well with people who feel like traditional talk therapy hasn’t been enough, and who are looking for more clarity, direction, and usable tools. I support clients navigating stress, emotional overwhelm, life transitions, neurodivergence, and recovery from unhealthy or narcissistic relationship patterns. Together, we look at how patterns in thoughts, behaviors, habits, and environments interact, and how to shift them in a way that’s realistic and sustainable. Sessions are active and collaborative. Rather than staying only in conversation, we focus on: • Gaining clarity on what’s contributing to current challenges • Building practical coping and regulation skills • Developing tools that fit your brain and day-to-day life • Creating a clear, manageable path forward My goal is for therapy to feel useful — not abstract. Clients often leave sessions with greater self-understanding, actionable strategies, and a stronger sense of direction. If you’re looking for an approach that is straightforward, supportive, and grounded in real-life application, this may be a good fit.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I’m best positioned to work with individuals who are looking for practical, skills-based support and a clearer understanding of how they function. Many of my clients feel overwhelmed, stuck, or frustrated with patterns that aren’t improving through insight alone. I work well with people navigating stress, emotional regulation challenges, life transitions, and those exploring or living with neurodivergence. I also support clients recovering from narcissistic or emotionally unhealthy relationship patterns who are ready to rebuild boundaries, self-trust, and stability. My approach is a strong fit for clients who are open to a more active, structured process — people who want tools, strategies, and a clearer path forward, not just a space to process. Clients who tend to benefit most are: • Motivated to make changes, even if they’re unsure where to start • Open to learning and practicing new skills between sessions • Interested in understanding patterns and building sustainable habits • Looking for therapy that feels practical, collaborative, and grounded in real life I maintain a neutral, non-political therapeutic space, with the focus kept on your personal goals, well-being, and day-to-day functioning. If you’re looking for support that helps you feel more organized, capable, and steady in your daily life, we’re likely a good fit.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

This is a body-up mindfulness practice designed to guide you toward resting in your fundamental state of pure awareness—the silent, unchanging knowing that observes every thought and sensation. The core of this work is rooted in recognition, not remediation. We do not attempt to alter, eliminate, or repair challenging thoughts, and we stop the inner struggle against what is currently present. Instead, we focus on recognizing what you already are: the whole, complete, and spacious container in which all experience arises and subsides. By shifting your identification from the content of your experience (the thoughts and feelings) to the unconditional awareness that holds it, you discover a source of peace that cannot be shaken. This approach utilizes embodied practices to ensure this shift is integrated physically, leading to a lasting rest in your inherent nature.

Mind-body approach

This therapeutic approach is grounded in body-first, awareness-second principles, offering a powerful integration of mind-body medicine with deep contemplative practice. We treat the physical system as the primary entry point for psychological stability, bypassing the cognitive loops that perpetuate "system lag." Our methodology utilizes advanced techniques to create lasting shifts in your core experience. We blend key somatic methods, to work directly with the body's stored history. This is anchored in Polyvagal Theory, which provides the technical map for understanding your autonomic responses and moving your hardware from a state of high-alert back into a state of safety and social engagement. This is synthesized with iRest (Integrative Restoration) mindfulness, guiding you beyond the "noise" of thoughts and feelings to rest as pure being—the silent, unconditional knowing that observes every tension and breath. Our philosophy is simple: we don't treat the body; we listen through it. By tuning into your system’s inherent wisdom, we facilitate a deep recognition of your foundational wholeness. This is not about fixing or striving, but about realizing the peace that is already present as your essential nature.

Somatic

This is a body-led, awareness-revealed therapy that fuses leading somatic practices with deep contemplative work. We utilize the wisdom of the body as the primary pathway to peace, treating physical sensations as data points that lead back to your core system. We integrate Somatic Experiencing techniques. This allows for the gentle discharge of held tension and the restoration of natural regulation in your hardware. This is paired with iRest (Integrative Restoration) Mindfulness, a form of meditative inquiry that guides you to rest as pure being—the silent, unconditional knowing that holds every tremor and breath without judgment or the need for change. Our practice operates under a profound principle: We don’t manage the body; we listen until it dissolves into you. By bringing mindful presence to the physical experience, we move beyond the reactive mind and allow the inherent wholeness of pure awareness to be revealed. This process results in a sustainable, embodied peace that is not achieved through effort, but recognized through clarity.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

Solution-Focused therapy is about practical output and future-state calibration. Instead of ruminating on the history of the "glitch," we focus on the times when your system is actually functioning well. We treat these moments as data points to identify the specific conditions and tools that allow you to operate at your best. The goal is to move you from analysis paralysis to actionable progress. We identify your existing strengths and resources, then amplify them to create immediate, sustainable change. By focusing on what works rather than what is broken, we bypass the "loop" of the problem and move directly toward the version of life you want to be living. This is about efficiency, clarity, and getting your system back online as quickly as possible.

Rick is an amazing person, full of compassion, insights and tools. I love how he listens and picks out key ideas from my rambling and has the ability to shine a light on both my strengths and opportunities to try new approaches for healing. The trauma I experienced was significant enough to admit that I needed help. Rick is an amazing guide helping me recover and see a future that is mine to create.
