LMHC, 8 years of experience
I help people struggling with anxiety symptoms due to a major life change. Most of my clients have undergone different changes, such as a break-up, divorce, loss of a loved one, or any transition in their life. Going through a life change, can affect so many areas in your life, living you with a sense of not being you, or out of control. I will help you to navigate the different emotions you are going through until you finally feel empowered and happy with this phase in your life. I will provide you with tools necessary to initiate your healing journey.
Your first therapy session with me is designed to help you feel safe, understood, and supported. The goal is not to dive into painful memories right away, but to begin building a genuine connection and a sense of trust. I understand that starting therapy can feel intimidating or uncertain, especially if it’s your first time or if you’ve had mixed experiences before. During this first meeting, I aim to create a calm and nonjudgmental environment where you can speak freely about what brought you to therapy and what you hope to gain from it. We’ll begin by reviewing confidentiality and informed consent, so you understand your rights as a client and how your information is protected. I’ll explain the structure of therapy sessions, my approach, and how treatment will be tailored to your specific needs. You can also ask any questions about the process — this time is for you to feel comfortable and informed. From there, we’ll explore your reasons for seeking therapy. You can share as much or as little as you feel ready to discuss. I may ask about your background, current stressors, relationships, or goals so I can better understand your story. This helps me develop a holistic picture of who you are and how therapy can best support your healing. For some clients, this includes discussing symptoms of anxiety, depression, relationship struggles, or significant life transitions. Others may simply want to feel more grounded, confident, or connected to themselves. You’ll also begin identifying your short- and long-term goals for therapy. Together, we’ll define what progress looks like for you — whether that’s learning coping skills, improving communication, or finding emotional balance. My role is to guide you with compassion and curiosity, using evidence-based tools such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and emotion regulation strategies. By the end of the first session, you should leave with a better understanding of how therapy works, what our sessions will focus on, and a sense that you’re not alone in this process. I want you to feel that this is a space where you can be your authentic self — free of judgment, labels, or pressure. The first session marks the beginning of a collaborative journey toward self-awareness, healing, and lasting change.
I use a collaborative approach. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Mindfulness. Every person is different so based on your needs we will work with different treatment methods.
In session, you will process past experiences, gain more self-confidence and feel more control in your life. You will learn to set healthy boundaries, engage in healthier relationships, and improve your communication skills. In the end, you will feel more comfortable in this new phase in your life.
I work with clients who are going through life changes such as Divorce, loss of a loved one, and going through any life transitions.
