My path to becoming a therapist has been shaped by both professional experience and real life. Before entering the counseling field, I spent nearly two decades working in the nonprofit world, supporting individuals, families, and communities as they navigated complex systems, major transitions, and periods of uncertainty. That work gave me a deep appreciation for resilience, adaptability, and the emotional toll that change can take. In my 30s, I returned to school to earn my master’s degree in Counseling and Psychology from Troy University and became a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. I have been practicing since 2014, providing in-person therapy through 2020 and working exclusively via telehealth since then. Along the way, I’ve experienced my own seasons of grief, loss, family challenges, and significant life transitions — including surviving cancer. These experiences have profoundly shaped how I show up as a therapist. I understand firsthand how vulnerable it can feel to ask for help, and how much strength it takes to keep moving forward when life feels uncertain. I bring that awareness into my work, offering a therapeutic space that is compassionate, grounded, and genuinely human. I am licensed in Florida and Vermont and provide 100% virtual therapy to adults. I work with clients navigating life transitions, anxiety, depression, trauma, and the emotional impact of chronic illness. My approach is thoughtful, collaborative, and tailored to each individual, with the goal of helping clients feel supported, understood, and more connected to themselves as they move through change.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
My top priority in therapy is the therapeutic relationship — no approach or treatment is effective without trust and comfort. In the first session, we focus on getting to know you, understanding your goals, and creating a safe space where you can be fully yourself. Clients can expect sessions that are supportive, empathetic, and relatable. While therapy can be challenging, I bring warmth, authenticity, and even a sense of humor when appropriate, making the work feel human and connected. Some clients come seeking practical coping strategies, while others want a space to explore their experiences with curiosity and understanding. Sessions are tailored to your needs, with the underlying goal always being the same: to feel truly seen, heard, and supported as you navigate life’s challenges.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
My greatest strength as a therapist is the integration of clinical expertise with lived experience. I bring resilience, authenticity, curiosity, and compassion into my work, grounded in a deep understanding of what it means to navigate loss, uncertainty, and major life transitions. I know firsthand what it’s like to grieve, to rebuild, and to grow, and I draw on both personal insight and professional training to help clients move forward with clarity and support. I am committed to ongoing learning and evidence-based care. I am EMDR trained (Levels 1 and 2) and currently completing consultation. I integrate CBT, trauma-informed care, mindfulness, and humanistic approaches into my work, tailoring therapy to meet each client’s unique needs. My style is collaborative, thoughtful, and focused on helping clients build insight, resilience, and emotional regulation over time. I also value creativity and connection to the natural world as part of mental wellness. When appropriate, I incorporate practical, accessible self-care tools — including grounding practices and activities like gardening — to support reflection, regulation, and overall well-being outside of sessions.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
My ideal clients are thoughtful, engaged adults who are ready to explore the parts of their lives that matter most. I work best with individuals who are open to reflection and growth, and who want a therapist who is empathetic, professional, and authentic. I aim to meet clients where they are and walk alongside them as they navigate life transitions, emotional challenges, and periods of change. I primarily work with adult women, supporting clients experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, chronic illness, or life-stage and identity transitions. My approach is collaborative and paced, creating space for both insight and practical coping strategies. At this time, my practice serves adults only and does not include work with minors, individuals with active eating disorders, or clients experiencing active suicidal ideation. When appropriate, I am committed to helping clients find referrals and support that best meet their needs.
Eclectic
I use an eclectic, integrative approach that combines Humanistic therapy, CBT, Mindfulness, EMDR, and other evidence-based techniques. By drawing from multiple therapeutic models, I can tailor sessions to the unique needs of each client, integrating the most effective strategies to support healing, resilience, and personal growth. This flexibility allows me to respond to the complexity of each individual’s experience with a personalized and holistic approach.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
With years of experience using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), I’ve seen how effective it can be in helping clients break free from unhelpful thought patterns that contribute to anxiety, depression, and emotional distress. In sessions, I help clients understand the connections between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, and work collaboratively to develop more balanced thinking and stronger coping strategies. Whether addressing self-esteem, emotional regulation, stress management, or trauma-related challenges, CBT provides a structured, evidence-based framework that empowers clients to actively participate in their healing and create lasting, meaningful change.
Humanistic
I use a humanistic, strength-based approach in therapy, focusing on clients’ existing resources, resilience, and capabilities rather than just their challenges. This perspective empowers clients to build confidence, reinforce their sense of agency, and discover solutions that work for them. By highlighting what is working well, therapy fosters hope, promotes self-understanding, and supports meaningful, lasting change.
Mindfulness-Based Therapy
I regularly incorporate mindfulness-based approaches as a powerful tool to help clients manage anxiety, depression, trauma, and emotional dysregulation. Mindfulness fosters self-awareness, emotional resilience, and the ability to respond—rather than react—to life’s challenges. In sessions, I guide clients through techniques such as breathwork, grounding exercises, body scans, and present-moment awareness, helping them reconnect with themselves and create space between thoughts and emotions. Whether used on its own or alongside CBT, solution-focused therapy, or EMDR, mindfulness provides a calm, centered foundation that supports healing, insight, and lasting change.
EMDR
EMDR is an evidence-based, trauma-focused therapy that helps clients process and make sense of distressing or overwhelming experiences in a safe and structured way. Rather than focusing only on talk therapy, EMDR supports the brain’s natural ability to heal by helping memories become less emotionally charged and more integrated over time. Through EMDR, clients can reduce trauma-related symptoms such as anxiety, intrusive thoughts, emotional reactivity, and distressing memories. The process allows individuals to gain new perspective, strengthen coping skills, and feel more grounded and in control in their daily lives. I am EMDR trained (Levels 1 and 2) and currently completing consultation. I integrate EMDR with other evidence-based approaches, including CBT, trauma-informed care, mindfulness, and humanistic therapy, to support healing, resilience, and long-term emotional well-being.
