About me

Hi, my name is Michael (Mike) Chavez, LCSW, and I provide individual therapy to adults facing a variety of challenges, including anxiety, depression, stress, and relationship issues. My therapeutic approach is grounded in empathy, active listening, and collaboration. I strive to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where you feel heard and supported. Together, we’ll explore what’s not working in your life and develop practical tools and strategies to create positive, lasting change. Sometimes that means identifying and replacing unhelpful thoughts and behaviors with ones that better align with your values and goals. My goal is to help you feel more empowered, balanced, and resilient.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, I focus on building a strong therapeutic alliance—a collaborative partnership grounded in trust, respect, and open communication. I take time to listen carefully to your concerns, gain an understanding of your goals, and begin identifying the challenges you'd like to address. Together, we will begin developing a personalized treatment plan that aligns with your needs and supports meaningful progress.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

One of my greatest strengths as a provider is the depth of experience I bring from over 10 years of working as a Medical Social Worker at Kaiser Permanente. This background has equipped me with a strong understanding of the intersection between physical and mental health, as well as the ability to support clients through complex emotional and medical challenges with compassion, clinical insight, and practical strategies.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I am well-suited to work with clients who are open to personal growth and motivated to make meaningful changes in their daily lives. I work best with individuals who are willing to engage in the therapeutic process and apply evidence-based strategies introduced in sessions to enhance their well-being, manage symptoms, and achieve their goals.
