About me

Hi, my name is Miguel Soltero, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with 9 years of experience as a mental health practitioner. I earned my Master of Social Work degree from the University of Southern California (USC) and have had the privilege of working with children, adolescents, adults, and older adults across diverse backgrounds. My clinical experience includes treating addiction, anxiety, mood disorders, and psychotic disorders. I have worked in community mental health, program management, and high-acuity hospital settings, which has given me a strong foundation in supporting individuals through both everyday challenges and moments of emotional and psychosocial crisis.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, I’ll take time to learn about you—your family background, relationships, coping skills, past experiences with therapy, and what you hope to achieve. My goal is to understand the roots of your core beliefs and align our work with your treatment goals. We’ll go at a pace that feels comfortable, starting exactly where you are. This approach is designed to help you feel safe, heard, and acknowledged from the very beginning. If you’re new to therapy, we’ll take extra time to explore your thoughts about starting this journey, answer any questions, and make sure you feel supported as we begin.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I incorporate a trauma-informed, systems-centered, and person-in-environment perspective to help you explore connections, understand how you see yourself and others, and examine the narratives you carry about yourself, your loved ones, and the world. I consider both your past and present experiences, as well as your strengths, aspirations, and limitations. While working together, I meet you where you are emotionally, using each session to create space for safety, vulnerability, and reflection. Clients often share that they feel challenged, motivated, and supported in therapy with me, appreciating the balance of understanding and transparency I bring.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work best with clients who are motivated to make positive changes and open to exploring opportunities for personal growth. Together, we can identify areas for development and work collaboratively toward achieving meaningful treatment goals that resonate with you.

My treatment methods

Trauma Informed Care

In each session, I consider how a client’s trauma history may influence their sense of safety, resilience, emotional regulation, and vulnerability. My goal is to create a space grounded in safety, trust, compassion, and reflection—encouraging self-empowerment, self-acceptance, and healing.

Attachment-based

I support clients in exploring their attachment styles and relationship patterns to foster self-awareness, develop effective coping tools, and build lasting confidence in their unique healing journey.

Psychoeducation

I provide psychoeducation to help clients understand their symptoms, recognize behavioral and cognitive patterns, and develop mindfulness skills. This approach fosters both internal and external growth, builds inner resilience, and offers practical strategies for navigating the socioemotional challenges that arise from mental and physical stress.

He mainly asked me questions, but when he would speak he would identify my problems quickly with little to no clarification. He phrased my concerns neutrally and took off pressure as he spoke and told me about options. It didn't feel like a long session at all, and he let me voice my concerns and answer his questions giving me all the time necessary without rushing me.

I have been battling a great lack in confidence which is what brought me to this provider. What stood out about Miguel Soltero is that he is very nice and his approach made me feel very comfortable. I look forward to diving deeper in our next session.
