Hello, I am Sandra Ventura and I am a Licenced Professional Counselor. I would like you to know that I love the work I do and I'd like to be part of your support system. I know how hard it is to reach out for help when you are going "through it", because I have been there. I know it is hard to find a professional that will listen to your concerns and not talk about theirs because I have been there too. I want you to know that is not how I operate. I am a straight shooter, I don't waste time, and I do not mislead my clients. I don't have a magic pill or a silver bullet to make all your concerns go away. I do have extensive professional experience working with a broad range of problems and seeing people get better. I treat adjustment disorders, trauma, grief, depression, anxiety, relationship concerns, and work-related issues to name a few. I use evidence-based techniques and strategies to get you back on top of your game fast. I work with a wide and diverse population and I am familiar with a broad range of cultures and lifestyles. I am fluent in Spanish. I invite you to consider working with me and take me along on your journey to a better you.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session we have an opportunity to introduce ourselves . I will explain some basic information about how individual therapy works. Then together we will explore the reason you are seeking individual therapy (the problem) . After the problem or problems are identified , I will share clear treatment goals and timelines addressing your concerns moving forward.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

As a professional counselor, my biggest strength is building rapport with my clients. I give my clients the utmost respect and I am able to gain the client's confidence in the therapeutic relationship. I am an expert at working with clients who have , or are experiencing trauma, grief, and good old life gone bad. I often utilize active listening, client feedback, and cognitive behavioral therapy in sessions. I also assign homework and I check it. ATTENTION: There is much demand for mental health support at this time, and your mental health is important to me, no matter who you are. I am asking any of my future clients to schedule your appointments in advance with me, as this will ensure I have availability. A 24-hour advance window does not ensure you will get an appointment with this provider. I know the frustration, of how it feels to want an appointment and not be able to get one until "forever" or 3 weeks down the line. Do not wait until the 11th hour or when you are in the hole and can't find your way out. If you're "going through it", or if you think you're "going through it", NOW is the time to get that appointment, not when the house is burning down. By the way, I do know how to put out fires, just in case. I respectfully ask my clients to answer my messages ASAP, as I like to keep my available appointments filled. I respectfully ask you to complete all required intake information and psychological assessments. Email your information back to me. When I get your information I review it completely. I like to save us both time, so we get right down to the business of helping you be better.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I work and have worked for many years with women , men, combat vets, and trauma victims. I have worked with a diverse and multicultural population. I work with people that know what. My clients want and are in need of support and guidance to help them take control of their thoughts and behaviors. My clients are seeking someone to listen and provide feedback that will encourage and empower them to move forward with their lives.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have been successful utilizing Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) in my private practice with therapy clients because CBT challenges client's negative cognitions of self or client's circumstances. Utilizing CBT with clients allows individual to explore thinking patterns that negatively affect their behaviors or responses to themselves others and to their circumstances. CBT offers alternative ways to interpret life experiences and self concepts and ideas . Utilizing CBT is able to change a client's thinking thereby change client's negative behaviors, leading to healthier cognitions and healthier responses to circumstances or situations .
