About me

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, born and raised in California. I received my Masters degree from Brandman University. I have experience working with adults, children, and families struggling with a wide range of challenges, such as, depression, anxiety, trauma, work/academic issues, and relationship conflicts. I also have experience in grief and loss, as well as emotional/behavioral challenges in children, teens, and adults.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, my focus is to get to know you, your goals for therapy, some your background, and for you to get to know me, my approach, and how I work with clients. I hope to begin to establish that this time is focused on creating a safe place for you to process, ask questions, practice skills, and explore.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I work collaboratively with my clients, and work to empower and nurture every individual’s strengths. I believe education is a primary tool for change. Through education and practice of useful skills, I believe anyone can develop new tools to alleviate their emotional distress, problematic behaviors, and improve their overall well-being. It is a process, and it won't happen overnight, but I am here to walk along side you.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

We are all just doing the best that we can, but it is easy to feel depleted, alone, anxious, or depressed. Making the decision and commitment to better one’s self is difficult, to say the least. I am here to help you achieve your goals. I aim to provide a safe and trusting environment for you to explore your emotions, experiences, relationships, and struggles. Therapy can be a great place to slow down, to think carefully about your life, and get support.

My treatment methods

Attachment-based

I aim to develop a relationship with all my clients that is based on developing or rebuilding trust and centers on expressing emotions. An attachment-based approach to therapy looks at the connection between early attachment experiences with primary caregivers, and the infant’s ability to develop normally and ultimately form healthy relationships as an adult. I use this approach to build or rebuild a trusting, supportive relationship that will help prevent or treat mental health conditions such as anxiety and depression.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

Using DBT techniques, I focus on helping people accept the reality of their lives and their behaviors, as well as helping them learn to change their lives, including their unhelpful behaviors. The “dialectic” in dialectical behavior therapy is an acknowledgment that real life is complex, and health is not a static thing but an ongoing process.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

I always bring a Person-centered approach to work with clients. This approach centers around your unique experience and perspective. I will offer empathy, genuine concern for you and your experience, and unconditional positive regard.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) offers many effective treatment techniques for various mental health conditions, teaching practical coping skills, and empowering individuals to manage their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.
