There is nothing more rewarding to me than assisting individuals in resolving the trauma that affects their lives. In my experience, the resolution of trauma has a knock-on effect that resolves many other issues the person may be experiencing. My approach is strongly based on a collaborative working relationship between the client and myself, where the client is the active partner in charge of their own recovery. I encourage the client to explore their past and present in order to understand how both have helped and hindered their ability to achieve their goals in life and in relationships. Establishing a clear timeline and connecting the dots from past experiences to what is currently going on in the client’s life is a powerful way to motivate them toward change.
During our initial session, we will conduct a comprehensive intake assessment, or if you've already begun one, we'll thoughtfully expand upon it. I particularly value engaging in a meaningful discussion about your individual therapy goals, and we will collaboratively establish a solid and supportive foundation for our therapeutic relationship.
I am a direct and compassionate therapist dedicated to helping clients achieve their goals. I create a non-judgmental space where you feel seen and heard, fostering a therapeutic relationship built on authenticity and professionalism. My approach focuses on establishing clear goals and working collaboratively to make the most of our sessions, ensuring you receive the support needed for meaningful progress.
I encourage my clients to cultivate a complete transparency with me and with themselves in the therapeutic alliance. The best type of therapeutic alliance is one where we can openly communicate in complete honesty about what is and what isn't working. The client is ultimately in the driver's seat in the therapeutic process, determining the therapeutic goals and outcomes. I am simply an aid to assist them along the way.
I have been certified in EMDR for the better part of 6 years. I received my certification through EMDRIA. I utilize EMDR with clients who want to process trauma.
I am certified in CETA, a form of CBT for adults. I utilize CBT in conjunction with EMDR to help clients build foundational skills, which are essential in trauma therapy.
My practice is entirely informed by a trauma-sensitive lens, creating a safe space for clients to explore their experiences and process their trauma.
