I believe that you hold the solution within you and are the expert of your own story. Through talk therapy, we will work together to understand the underlying causes of your problems while focusing on sustainable solutions. I am here to support you every step of the way, helping you achieve the life you deserve.
I feel that someone reaching for help is demonstrating resilience and courage and I am here to support them in achieving a healthier and more fulfilling life. When your having trouble it usually helps to talk to someone who can relate through similar life experiences. I've had my share of ups and downs with mental health and substance use issues and have grown from these experiences. I went back to school and obtained a Masters degree in Mental health counseling at USF in Tampa, FL., and their progam was amazing. It inspired and motivated me, but this work has also humbled me as I've witnessed the strength, resilience and compassion of so many people as they persevere in life. Over the last 10 years I've worked in a psychiatric hospital and in facilities specializing in the treatment of Addictions and mental health issues. It's been a rewarding journey and I'm grateful and honored each time I'm able to listen as another person shares their story. I understand that sometimes we don't make the best decisions, but letting go of shame and guilt will begin in talk therapy and you'll be able to sort out the why of the problem, while also focusing on a lasting solution.
I specialize in working with individuals dealing with trauma, anxiety, depression, addiction, PTSD, and phobias.
I've found CBT to be extremely effective at helping a person manage and cope with problems by identifying and challenging unhelpful thoughts. You'll learn practical strategies that will help you to reduce anxiety, depression and the negative impact of trauma. If there are problems with addiction CBT has been found to be among the best talk therapies available.
