Jennifer Valera, LCSW I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker committed to providing thoughtful, high-quality therapy in a professional, supportive, and non-judgmental environment. I understand that reaching out for therapy can feel overwhelming, and my goal is to offer a space where you feel safe, respected, and taken seriously from the start. I take a collaborative, strengths-based approach, working closely with clients to understand their concerns and develop clear, meaningful goals for treatment. Therapy with me is intentional and tailored—I draw from evidence-based approaches to meet your unique needs while honoring your values, culture, and lived experience. I work with adults and couples navigating anxiety, depression, trauma and PTSD, relationship challenges, stress, low self-esteem, life transitions, grief and loss, ADHD, anger management, and family conflict. I also have experience providing substance use counseling for adults. I earned both my undergraduate and Master’s degrees in Clinical Social Work from the University of Central Florida. Outside of my work, I value time with my family—especially my niece and nephew. I enjoy yoga, documentaries, true crime, movies, a good cup of coffee, and the occasional well-earned moment of rest.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
In our first session, we will take time to understand what brings you to therapy, discuss your concerns, and clarify your goals for treatment. This session is focused on creating a clear direction for our work together while ensuring you feel supported and understood.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
My greatest strength is creating a warm, supportive environment where clients feel comfortable being themselves and openly exploring their concerns.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
My ideal client is someone who is motivated, open to self-reflection, and ready to actively engage in the therapeutic process.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as a collaborative, evidence-based approach to help clients understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. By identifying unhelpful thinking patterns and developing healthier ways of responding to them, CBT supports meaningful changes that reduce anxiety and depression and promote greater emotional balance and resilience.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
I use Solution-Focused Therapy to support individuals and couples in identifying goals, recognizing existing strengths, and developing realistic strategies for change. This collaborative, goal-oriented approach helps clients move forward with greater clarity, confidence, and hope.
Gottman method
I use the Gottman Method as an evidence-based approach to help couples improve communication, deepen emotional connection, and navigate conflict in healthier ways. By focusing on building friendship, trust, and effective problem-solving skills, couples are supported in creating a more stable, respectful, and fulfilling relationship.

I had worked with Jennifer in the past on a different platform. She has supported me at my lows and helped me get back on my feet each time. She is an active listener who will always help me try to find something actionable to help me change my state. She helps me recover to the point of not needing consistent therapy, but I always know I can call her if I need support again.
