My treatment methods

Trauma-Focused CBT

I have been trained in trauma-focused CBT and have been using it with children and adolescents for years. It has been very helpful for those who have experienced trauma.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) focuses on helping individuals identify and challenge negative thoughts, which often manifest as distorted or unrealistic perceptions that can hinder personal growth. By recognizing these detrimental thought patterns, clients are guided to reframe their thinking, shifting from extreme views to more balanced and realistic perspectives. For instance, transforming an "all-or-nothing" mindset into a more nuanced understanding can significantly improve emotional well-being. Additionally, therapists collaborate with clients to create effective coping strategies, equipping them with practical tools to navigate challenging situations and manage their symptoms effectively.

Motivational Interviewing

I focus on establishing trust and rapport to enhance effective communication and develop realistic, patient-centered goals.

Trauma Informed Care

Recognizing and addressing trauma involves learning to spot its signs and symptoms in patients while ensuring that responses do not inadvertently cause further distress. This requires creating environments free of triggers and that instead promote a sense of safety. Building trust and collaboration is essential.
